I was trying to find out some more information about this ticket but it seems the Southeastern website doesn't actually give too much away.

I want to travel from Slade Green to Gillingham (Kent) going out on a Saturday and returning on the Sunday - however returning back to Abbey Wood.

The fact that the ticket is only a little bit more than a day return makes it very tempting (Info from BRfares)

I was going to purchase a weekender ticket from Abbey Wood to Gillingham (Kent). However,
I can't find out what the ticket restrictions of it are - Am I able to start my journey short at Slade Green, thus enabling me to return to Abbey Wood without a problem on the Sunday or is it like an advance and I have to travel from Abbey Wood?

The Southeastern website also lists some example fares, none of which make any sense - listing two sets of example fares one stating From and the other To but no mention of From/To where!!!

Anyone able to shed any light on this!

The restrictions for a Weekender Return Abbey Wood - Gillingham (Kent) are here.

You will see that no break of journey is permitted on the outward leg but break of journey is permitted on the return leg. This would not allow you to start your outward journey short at Slade Green. Sorry.

Thankyou John!

Shame the information isn't clearer on their web site :)

Indeed!

To find the details of the Restriction, you need to go to National Rail's journey planner and enter suitable times and dates for a return Abbey Wood - Gillingham (Kent) journey. When offered Train times & tickets, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the fare type Southeastern Weekender. This takes you to the Ticket terms & conditions. Towards the bottom of that page, you are invited to view the specific 'Validity Code' applicable to the journey plan that you have selected. This gives you the details of Validity Code SF.

You are also invited to view the complete list of 'Validity Codes' applicable to the ticket type that you have selected but due to a programming error that link takes you to a list for ticket type Off-Peak Return (SVR), not the list for ticket type Southeastern Weekender (WK2).

There is also a ticket type Southeastern First Class Weekender (WK1). Due the scarcity of trains with First Class accommodation on this route, it is even more difficult to find the Validity Code for ticket type WK1. If you do happen to stumble across the link, you encounter another programming error. You are told
National Rail Enquiries said:
Information for this Restriction Code is currently unavailable.

Sorry, this restriction code appears to be missing.
The "unavailable" Code is also SF!

I was about to write that the standard of programming is inconsistent. It's not. It's consistently poor.
