I see SWT is looking for qualified drivers and as I am currently looking around for a new TOC I thought I'd put it out there and ask has anyone got any info on them , good to work for ? bad to work for? Anything really mainly interested in the London depots like Wimbledon , Clapham Junction etc.. Many thanks.

I don't know what they are like to work for, but as someone who has and does use them to travel quite regularly I think their service is very good. I am interested in Wimbledon myself.

Clapham Junction as far as I am aware is not a driver depot, just a berthing facility.

Are you a train driver in a London TOC ?

444/450/455/456 (no longer sign 458s since they moved solely to the Windsor side post refurbishment, bar a couple of Altons in the evening with Farnham drivers)

Route wise it is a mainly "main side" suburban depot with no "Windsor side" work. Taking the main route through the station as Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour via Haslemere, they also do the following branches off it:-

- Raynes Park to Chessington South
- Raynes Park to Dorking via Epsom
- Raynes Park to Effingham Jct via Epsom
- Surbiton to Hampton Court
- Surbiton to Guildford via Cobham
- Woking to Alton (+ Farnham sheds)
- Guildford to Ascot
- Guildford up and down carriage sidings

London area depots are Waterloo, Wimbledon, Strawberry Hill and Staines (Clapham is just stabling sidings that a number of depots sign). All are primarily inner suburban 455/456 and 458/5 stopping services. Top links at Waterloo do Bournemouth and Salisbury, and Wimbledon add Alton and Portsmouth, although it may take a while before you work your way up to those links. Strawberry Hill and Staines are very much "Windsor side" suburban depots focusing on the lines through Richmond and Hounslow to Kingston, Windsor, Weybridge and Reading. Staines do the odd trip to I believe Chessington and Woking, whilst Strawberry Hill occasionally go down to Guildford via Cobham.

Thanks for taking the time to go in to that much detail. I'm also interested in applying and if you have any information regarding Fratton and Basingstoke depots, it'd be much appreciated.
