Not according to here mate: www.selg.co.uk

A weekend of GC and Battlefield for you then Mr R? Think Spa Valley Saturday with a look in at Chinnor on the way home on Sunday for me :) Can't see the point of the tamper contraption working though, surely nobody goes scratching them?!

Where there's something with a number that moves under its own power, there's bound to be someone with a red pen wanting to scratch it in! I think it's a good idea to try something different, although it won't actually tempt me there.

Hi,

Yes, regrettably 33063 and 065 are unavailable due to ongoing maintenance and heavy overhaul resoectively.

If I were a pedant (which I am), I'd say that this isn't really a gala per se, it's just a weekend where we give our home fleet the chance to stretch their legs.

Nonetheless, it's a chance to get some decent haulage behind 37254 and 73140 on a line where we actively try to give the enthusiast what he wants; namely good acoustics, spirited performance (well, as much as you can under 25mph anyway!), nice beer and a warm welcome from friendly, likeminded staff.

Also, we're offering a complete round trip behind the tamper - it's a Type 07, you know - on Saturday afternoon, plus two shuttles to High Rocks on the Sunday. As far as we know, no-one's put out a tamper for haulage before, and seeing as we've got it, we thought it might be fun. I wouldn't mind hazarding that there are quite a few cranks who would be thrilled to bag this unusual traction (not me, obviously, cough).

In addition, you'll also be able to travel behind our unique Bullied class 12 and the Drewry 0-4-DM in the Queen Mary and London Transport Hurst-Nelson brakevans, and make the most of the very lovely Sussex and Kent ales we're putting on for you.

There are other events this weekend, and the Battlefield lads put on a great show, but if you're not far from Tunbridge Wells (or even if you are!), you are guaranteed a fun-filled day or two on the south-east's most diesel-friendly railway!;)

Look forward to seeing you there - tell all your mates...

James,

No promises, as I'm not the one sourcing the stuff, but the usual Menu du Jour is two or three barrels of Harvey's in varying forms (Sussex, Olympia, Tom Payne) and a barrel of Larkin's for those punters of taste and discrimination.
I too am allowed to drink, as I am 31. Anyone under the age of 65 will have to produce ID :p
