Split ticket delay repay query

I recently did a journey from Reading to Bristol.

The journey was made up of:

Off peak day return from Reading to Didcot.

Rail sale single advance from Didcot to Bristol.

Rail sale single advance from Bristol to Didcot.

No issues with outward journey.

On the return journey.

The train was 14 minutes late getting to Didcot Parkway, thus not eligible for delay repay on the single advance (so I'm aware). However, was 26 minutes arriving into Reading, which would receive payment on the Didcot to Reading ticket.

My questions relating to this:

1) Do I submit all tickets relating to this return journey, including the single advance from Bristol to Didcot, or just the Didcot to Reading return ticket?
2) If I am required to submit both tickets, how do I do this, considering both tickets have different numbers?

You are due delay repay on your entire journey, and all the tickets that make up your journey. Not just the section for which the delay went over.

You select your entire journey on GWR’s portal, and it will ask you if you used more than one ticket, giving you a chance to upload each ticket and fill in details individually.

In this case the tickets that made up your ticket are the Advance from Bristol to Didcot, and the Return from Didcot to Reading. Companies are sometimes odd about how they work it out, but I would expect you to get 12.5% of the return ticket and 25% of the advance ticket back.

Thank you.

Was not sure how to do this as I've not had a delay repay query involving two tickets before.

Nor any that involve two different ticket types!

It’s worth noting that if you have a situation similar with other operators it may not be quite so simple to upload. Your entitlement is the same, but some operators make it harder to upload multiple tickets to their portals, and you have to link pdfs together or similar. Unusually for GWR they have decided to make things easy.

The system that GWR and SWR use seems to be the best out of all.

Chiltern and XC are two examples, from what I've seen, or making things a bit more difficult for delay repay claims in general.

Hopefully we may see a standardised system and compensation structure, when GBR comes fully into effect.
