Hello, can anyone who has used the meal services on the SRPS tours tell me how good they are? Are they good value? Thanks.

A bit like the PS Waverley then... I'm sure it isn't a Scottish thing!

Its basic sustenance with no pretence of fine dining. Polystyrene cups of soup, plates etc, plastic cutlery and very basic food. A case of if you don't want to carry sarnies or patronise the buffet car but no more.

Thanks for the replies folks, that is as I had imagined. Will probably give it a go, not very often I get to go on one of their trips. Ta.

Breakfasts are good, lunch tends to be salad and cold meats, I never bothered with the evening meals as it tends to be beef based stuff.

Everything is disposable plates etc and has been for some years.

Last time the soup wasn't available which is what I really wanted.
