Does anyone know why Stagecoach Merseyside has changed its legal identity to Ribble Motor Services? Has it re-activated the dormant company of the great Ribble bus company or literally just renamed Glenvale? Thanks
What has changed? DVSA still refer to Glenvale for the licences for Merseyside and Stagecoach North West for the Cumbria and Lancashire operations and the Ribble company is still shown as dormant at companies house.Does anyone know why Stagecoach Merseyside has changed its legal identity to Ribble Motor Services? That's because Stagecoach management in the area is dismal so people dont want to work there, better to work at competitors. The Stagecoach Merseyside thread is closed so I am mentioning this here: The Stagecoach 10A is being reduced from every 15 minutes to every 30 minutes as of this weekend. This route runs in conjunction with Arriva under the Quality Bus Partnership - Arriva continue to operate every 15 minutes so the service level will be 8-7-15- etc. Not every 10 minutes. And not like the Arriva 10, which runs alongside it much of the way is helpful - this runs every 20 minutes. This is a really principal bus corridor - very poor. Stagecoach appears to have been badly affected by driver shortages in the area, Wirral in particular has had heavy cutbacks.

Stagecoach, the UK’s biggest coach and bus operator has today (6 April) announced its plans to introduce 170 fully electric vehicles in Stockport as it places its largest electric bus order to date.
- 170 fully electric vehicles to be introduced in Stockport
- £37.2m investment made by Stagecoach
- Builds further on its commitment to having a zero-emission bus fleet by 2035
The electric fleet of 150 double deck and 20 single deck vehicles, which will be produced by Volvo/MCV represent an investment by Stagecoach of £37.2m and will benefit customers in Stockport with the first vehicles of the order being delivered in summer 2024.
The buses will be jointly funded by Stagecoach and local and national government, with Stagecoach’s £37.2m investment match-funded by £35.7m from Greater Manchester’s successful Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas (ZEBRA) bid and an additional contribution of £12.5m by TFGM/GMCA.
The new electric buses will be fully accessible, with wheelchair bays, hearing induction loops, audio and visual announcement systems and anti-slip flooring.

Sorry it appears that 36802/807 are only on loan to Peoples bus.ADL Enviro 200 36802/807 have been sold to Peoplesbus of Netherton, a local Merseyside operator.
Yes it will be - and fit between the school services currently operating in the Winsford area (think the services are Winsford-Tarporley High but not 100%)Spreading their wings even further. I assume that service will be operated by Chester Depot.
They have 1 Winsford to Tarporley High and a Tarvin - Tarporley High bus.Yes it will be - and fit between the school services currently operating in the Winsford area (think the services are Winsford-Tarporley High but not 100%)
Saw an unidentified Stagecoch single decker on sun 16th April between Tarporley and Nantwich, presume driver route learning for the 84 service which starts next weekChester currently has seven double deckers on its books 10573-77 19168 19534 but I would think that more would be brought in before 23 April.
Much better route and timetable than what went out to tender. Really glad someone saw sense with it.
D&G are rerouting their 37 service to serve Wharton and their 31 service to serve Glebe Green. The Railway Station already is served by the 37. So the Council-supported Stagecoach W7 is aimed at serving the streets with no replacement service, hence serving a similar route to the X31 in North West Winsford. The Industrial Estate won't have a bus service but that is not the populated area which requires a service.Surprised it doesn't serve the industrial estate or railway station
That was the original tender. West loop then Morrisons, Rail Station, Ind Est, Morrisons. No point in it doing it though as the industrial estate was only put on the 7s for driver changes and to make the route closer to an hour. The train station is served by the 37. The only half useful thing would have been Morrisons.Surprised it doesn't serve the industrial estate or railway station
They've also borrowed a couple of Merc Sprinters for work in St Helens BV66 GSZ & GUF.ADL Enviro 200 36802/807 have been sold to Peoplesbus of Netherton, a local Merseyside operator.

How many additional vehicles will Chester need to operate Route 84 to Nantwich/Crewe?
