Tridents? I've always said X/V regs from London would be a better bet than 04s back from Preston.

Can't think of any London stuff that could replace B10Ms though...

Hard to tell.
Traveller's have been doing a lot of the RR work, but Leck's, KTs, KLCH (and Yellow Rose), Bibby's of Ingleton are all involved.

That list is definitely non-exhaustive, there's at least 2 operators that elude me atm.

Irvings was one. Definitely not seen Reays this far down.

I am referring to the RR caused by Arnside viaduct being closed. I'm not sure how round the coast the coaches are operating, may only be Barrow. Of course, weekend engineering is probably on a different contract, so who knows...?

Well what a day! As ever Morecambe did a good job putting on the open day and I hope everyone who went had a good time. I'll leave allocations for someone else to post (hehe) but I did manage to get some info from a SC employee shown below:

X12

Last year as we all know it was meant to be Gold Spec Versas but that was dropped. Then it was going to be brand new solos, but now it's going to be refurbished MANs from Morecambe but as ever this could change!

E300s, MANs and Preston

The E300s coming in will displace 4 MANs to Preston which will in turn displace 4 MANs from Preston to Glasgow for the X19.

ME will therefore retain 8 MANs, 3 or 4 of which will be used on the X12. I assume the other 4 will replace B10Bs/B10s.

B10Ls:

As Gez mentioned ME are trying to get 4 which will be to try and get as many B10s out as they can seeing as we are keeping some older MANs. However some may go to Cumbria but the whole thing's up in the air at moment.

Service Changes:

SC has gone under a network review which has now been put on hold until after the Olympics. However eventually the 3 will only run between Lancaster University and the City Centre with the 4 running between Lancaster Morecambe and Heysham.

The 2a will be cut and the 2 will run every 10 minutes.

Service 6 will be cut with service 6a doing the full route throughout the day.

Service X1 will be replaced with service 1 as mentioned before by KendalKing.

Services 5 and 55 will interwork and there was talk of the 49 interworking with a Carnforth Route as well but I can't remember what that was.

Service X55 (Sunday service) will be cut with Kendal running a Sunday 555 service.

Kendal with will be introducing a new Bike Route with 22104/08. Government funding has been provided to help this get started. However a route has not been decided as the MANs keep getting stuck...

Kendal's Scanias.

Kendal's new Scanias may turn up ahead of schedule in August rather then October.

I think that was it. If I've got anything wrong I'm sure Gez will correct me or Mbonwick seeing as he was there at the time lol.

Pictures from today will be up on my Flickr Shortly.

5 and 55 to follow same route from Carnforth to the Kellets. Will then become a 49 back into Lancaster via Halton I do believe.

Are they planning on providing an alternative service for the Low Lane - Fullwood Drive - Warwick Avenue - Fairhope Avenue section or do they plan leaving this entire estate along with its large elderly population without a bus service?

I think the idea is that the 4 route changes to follow the current 3 route and extended it to Heysham so effectively cutting the 4 route if you see what I mean...

Which leaves Bare Lane without a service and large sections of Morecambe without a service to the lower end of Torrisholme, an equally bad idea. The two routes have operated the way they have in Bare and Torrisholme for most (if not all) of the 28 years I've been alive. If it ain't broke...

Indeed I imagine it is to make the network more cost effective. BUT Please don't take this as a done deal like I said in my post this could all change and also it could all be wrong!

Also it may be that they decided to send the new 1 service down by Fulwood drive etc I don't know.

As I sit on my one hour late running National Express Scania Irizar I have to agree, it was a cracking day! Some great buses in and around the depot, would have been nice to see a contribution from Lillyhall, but hey we can't have everthing!

Was nice seeing the guys down in Morecambe and Lancaster, great day. Bring on next years rally

One of the last shuttles from the depot was 27744, which I was a passenger on, and after being on South Shields and now Morecambe's E300s... I'm very envious of you having them!

Of course! feel a lot better on the road from a passengers point of view, picked up speed very well, leg room much better than a MAN as well!

It was indeed, it followed me into the Bus Stn at 16.22:D

Couldn't have gone to Lancaster without getting a couple of cheeky shots of MX05OSZ too ;)
