34691 currently sitting in the shed at Carlisle and from the front it looks like it has had a full repaint. It has lost it's Pink bits next to the blind suggesting it will become a blank Dart now. 16336 on Seatoller's this morning but that was replaced by 16355 with 16366 then going onto 554 and now on the Race's.

There is a School Runner at Carlisle for painting at present with Preston Enviro 19039.

Versa 25226 back in service at Preston freshly painted. Its gained the Stagecoach "beach-ball" logo on the side panels at the very front of the bus, ahead of the passenger door and the drivers cab. Also its fleet number on the front is now top right (as you look at the front) on the windscreen wiper panel. On the side, the number is at the very top and front of the black curved area above the door and cab. Other then that its looks good.

An ALX300 has also been re-painted. Can't remember which one though, I don't have access to my camera at the moment to check.

Am I right in thinking that Preston and Carlisle are the only two North West depots to have painting facilities?

That is correct, I presume the ALX300 has been done in house at Preston as it has not passed through Carlisle in the last couple of weeks.

I can confirm that it's 22257 that's been re-painted at Preston, Its lost all Citi branding.

Also 18153 failed on stand and had to be towed away back to the depot.

Chorley had one of their B10Ms out on the 109, 20898 made an appearance on the route during the afternoon.

Lillyhall can also paint buses, But it is very rare, and nowadays only do touchups (i.e. their specialist "red arse" paintjobs!)...

LL, like most other depots (except KL and possibly BA), have 2 paint prep bays where limited painting can be done.
Only CE and PR have full paintshops with the requisite facilities.

The inner recesses of my tortured mind.
It now looks like Chorley will not be getting the ex-London Tridents that are currently at Hyde Road being prepared for service. I have been told that they are heading off elsewhere, though I don't know where. Can't say as I'm too upset as I'd rather drive our Volvos than ex-London Tridents!

47486 is away for repaint at the moment, and we now have one of the '58' Solos from Preston, though for the life of me I can't remember which one!

As Class20 says, we had a B10M out on 109s today. In fact we had three out, with two covering for Solos on Chorley town services.

On another note, myself and Mrs TRN are having a long weekend up in Cockermouth this weekend and will be getting the bus to Carlisle on Saturday morning. What is used on the 600 these days? Last September it was a B10M/PS. We'll be catching the 1027 from Cockermouth so if any forum member is driving, say hello! :D

Cheers.

If this is the same thing that I've heard, all I can say is I'm very skeptical. Seems very dependant on Morecambe getting what they've requested in 2012...unless of course Kendal's Tridents feature in this?

Incidentally, 18358 was very short of power today and sounded rough as hell!

This vehicle will gain Stagecoach swoops when space becomes available. This has already been reported on the Dundee Area Bus Forum. The delay in it getting painted was due to the Rotala Preston Bus tridents that Stagecoach Fife have been painting.

And on that, it's interesting to note that Stagecoach Fife painted the PB tridents (ex Lothian) with the correct shade of blue skirt, Preston Bus painted theirs wrong!

Doubt it, the majority of Tridents for Fife went through Ferrymill I believe who also did the painting.

Worth remembering that Scottish schools are now back, and that those Tridents were needed before the start of term to meet contract age requirements.

Still Volvo B10M's, except 1 run each day mon-fri, which is usually a Lillyhall Volvo Olympian. Quite often get a Dart on at night.

Solo's don't do Stagecoach Stripes, but if they did, they'd be the worst looking Solo's in the world...

The Darts are booked onto run the 2 evening trips on service 600 Mon-Fri with a 79/179 Enviro doing them on a Saturday night. The 15.40 ex CE trip is often Dart operated too as its a fresh bus.

NW and Merseyside fleetcards up. Nothing changed at Merseyside - even 33138 manages to live on beyond the grave!
I really do wonder when Merseyside (or M&SL as we should call it now) will work out that it no longer exists?!

Probably when they try look for it to transfer it or sell it
May 2010 it departed Carlisle, after being sent up to rob parts from.
