Well i hope Stagecoach Merseyside can find more Buses and Drivers at short notice as they have won the 192, 990, 991, 992 and 993 Contracts on Emergency basis starting on Monday!

The 990-993 can be worked by two Solos and the 192 is evenings and Sundays so buses should not be a problem!

For some reason the Eclipses that where going to Preston are still sat around in Gillmoss Depot, has plans changed here or something?

I assume that Gillmoss will bring in Solos to operate the new routes. Any ideas how many will be required?

Noted on another thread that the 192 requires four buses on a Sunday.

Unless things have changed radically, I can't see C&NL giving up 47009 having just seatbelted it...

I could'nt believe that an old trident was being used on the Carlisle to penrith 104 service last week

Stagecoach in carlsle must be seriously short of vehicles to be using that old shed

How can stagecoach get away with using something like that on a busy route

The 104 often sees two Tridents - 18361 and 18365. I think they are at Carlisle specifically for the 104. They are also about 10 years old, which I don't think qualifies as old sheds compared to some buses in the fleet.

If the 104 is a busy route surely it makes sense to use Tridents on it as they are double deckers.

Do you mind, that Trident is one of three which are the newest deckers at the depot - they are only ten years old! Just as well you didn't see the stand-in - a nicely repainted Olympian (16651) though with its seats replaced with a more recent set.

Actually two double-deckers are used on the 104 as the boards also cover peak journeys to Newton Rigg college and the 91 service to Caldew School.

Green 18357 just worked a 104 into Carlisle. I like Tridents. Prefer the Olympian that just left on the 104 though - 16651

I've recently seen the likes of 16665 and 16667 working Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire's 42 service in and around Blackpool, these must be the oldest of the fleet and was wondering what the future holds for them and when are they likely to be withdrawn?

Presumably the same website reports that many more Darts are leaving for Stagecoach South. Presumably these will be from Gillmoss which are being replaced by new E300 on route 19.

I believe so, yes. According to my list that would leave sixteen Dart 4s, which I presume are being replaced by the Tridents coming from Preston, unless anybody can confirm otherwise?

I was wondering the same thing about 16634, returning from Garstang on it on Wednesday. 20 years old next year! Sort of age Leyland Nationals used to scoff at! :) I do hope it's rewarded for all the hard work over the years.

Following from my previous post, at least one of 16665 & 16667 has very faded paintwork around the back, obviously many years of going through the washer!

Looks like 22241 that was last used at Wigan has found a new home, it was running out of Middleton today on the 112/114/118

16665 is the one with faded paintwork, should be getting its rear repainted soon.
Nothing to do with going through the wash, just the bad weather and salt in the air that makes the paintwork fade and the hard work they do.

Would the incoming Tridents not also replace stuff like 17019 and 17021?

It's entirely possible, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the older Enviro300s were replaced and transferred to other areas in the Stagecoach Group to replace non DDA compliant vehicles.

Enviro300s will not be leaving Merseyside & South Lancs - only Darts and ALX400s are planned to come out.

Gold is now standard on the 125 between Preston and Bolton, though, predictably given the route, large gaps were noticed this morning Bolton-bound around Rivington, no bus for 30 minutes then 3 together, and a 4th 1 minute behind.
