If we knew the registrations, we'd be abel to tell if they came from Optare stock or a dealer.

Hmmm......thats a Welsh mark if it had come from Optare stock and was pre-registered it would be on a Leeds registration such as YN, but thats not to say they arent from stock and were registered with Welsh marks before going to Stagecoach.

its extremely likely that they had been built with Optare's standard spec to be sold on through a dealer, but then Stagecoach purchased them and registered them in Wales.

Dealer stock I'd say, the black bits either side of the display suggest it's meant to take other types not jsut an LED.

Been in Whitehaven this afternoon

22611, 22595 & 22600 on 30

Noticed one of the Rear access panels on 22600 looks like it's been damaged, pushed right in & looked dented...

Passed the usual flurry of beavers & b10s on their way (i would guess) to Sellafield.

that would be the bus that Andrew damaged against the new raised platforms in the bus station :D
it was on the annexe earlier after finishing its days work, and comparing the damage on the bus to the damage on the corner, it looks very similar haha.

20129 replaced 22609 on 30.
20765 and 20737 have been on 31.
47023 on 50.
34616 on 51.
33168, 33169 and 47060 on Harrington & Seaton.

The following is a depiction of MY ideas, prophecies and predications on whats going to happen at Stagecoach's Chorley Depot and, for the purpose of the following, it has to be assumed that anything contained within this message has not be verified by ANY reliable source..

So here goes..

I was mentioning earlier in this thread about the possibility of Chorley getting 5 Enviro's in October, and there was a question about where the 5 tridents they displaced would go.. Well..

Its likely that there will not be any Tridents displaced

It could start with 15466 could be in Chorley late September for VF'ing, followed by the 5 new 59 reg Scania Enviro's.

This should allow for the following displacements, 14201 and 16669/70

The last two being back at Preston at the moment, allegedly on loan, but the way i see it, Preston loaned them to Chorley until the end of the academic year whilst the 68's went onto a Winter timetable, with the agreement that when the year had finished and the 68 was on Summer timetable, they would return to Preston, hence thats why they never lost the 68 route branding, its possible they could return to help out for a couple of months, or something similar sent in thier place.

The last two displacement spaces would be used to send away tridents for long term work, likely suspects at the moment being 18150 and 18154, (but this will probably change) so that when they return they can displace some slightly older tridents elsewhere, which would probably coincide with the rest of the '59 reg Enviro fleet arriving at Chorley.

Now you have to consider something thats going to happen in 2 to 3 years time.. assuming that Chorley is still 'as is' and not part of some Super Depot at Walton Summit with outstations at Fleetwood and Westhoughton

The Volvo's and B10's used by Chorley are mainly P and R reg buses, by the start of the 2012/13 academic year they will be rendered 'unusable' in two ways.

1) GMPTE stipulates on its tender contracts that buses used must be younger than 15 years old

2) By then the buses will not be at all suitable for use on the 125/6 service

So they will have to be cascaded away (with the possible exception of 16635 which may remain as a 'Heritage Bus') and Tridents kept for school work

The PVR by then could be..

22 Enviro's for the 125/6 Service
8 to 10 Tridents for Schools work, probably being 18150-18159 and probably 18138 as they are 04/54 reg and include CCTV on some of them, with the rest being CCTV equipped
2 to 3 Darts for 109 Service
anything up to 5 'Tender Spec' Single deckers to operate any of the 'low bridge' tenders
Plus the usual minibuses

The Enviro's will probably signal an end to investment in Chorley for a few years until the Solos need replacing, which could be anything up to the 2014 fiscal year.

Just a few thoughts ;)

looks like Lillyhall is losing their last Expressliner coach :(
RBZ 5459 (52268 i think) is likely to be replaced by none other than sh*tty Jonckheere S796 KRM (52626, the one that was recently repainted).
S797 KRM (52627), S798 KRM (52628 ) and S799 KRM (52629) will be going to Carlisle, replacing P977 UBV (52405, branded for 685), P108 DCW (52408 ) and P109 DCW (52409, branded for 685).
this will leave P114 DCW (52414) as the only Plaxton Premiere in service in the North West Fleet.

and i bet it gets RBZ's numberplate to disguise it a little!

hopefully doesn't! haha.
seems pointless to me like. RBZ has 46 seats and toilet. they also have some thing at the back next to the toilet which i didnt really investigate, and rear continental door, meaning its easier to get off in an emergency. the Joncks are 51 seat with luggage pen, no toilet, and a more "standard" rear emergency exit, requiring passengers to insert their feet into 2 little holes in the side of the coach, which if you're rushing to get off a coach, are quite difficult to use, resulting in injury. RBZ's main duties these days being a reserve coach for day trips (when S665 SDT is unavailable).

Can we assume then that 16635 is being repaired after that horrific crash?

With regards to the Tridents going away for long term work, I think that if that does happen they will likely be sent to Cummins for new Euro 5 engines and new drivechains.

Also, the Olympians that could be transferred away this year I would guess at heading to Preston, for obvious reasons (all those E reg Leyland Olys)

1) Allegedly so, something to do with it being a Northern Counties body-worked vehicle, and a possible involvement by the Ribble Preservation people

2) Nothing can be said about (or done with) Preston until the final word has come from the M&MC and OFT, we can use their buses, Hence the 'On Hire to Ribble etc' cards in the window, but i suppose there is nothing to stop our stuff being on hire to Preston Bus, and 'storing' the E-reg's until they either have to return or can get scrapped

if they come out...
Well, i'm gonna use them on a ticket and i'll let you know!

WHEN they come out then thats two of us sharing the jackpot then, unless some silent majority on here decide to punt in as well

What you say about Preston Bus is true, however the investigation will be decided by October, with the paperwork having until 18th November to be finalised/published.

So really the outcome isn't that far away!

In that case if anything does leave Chorley it should go to SC Preston. They could even end up with a few ex Merseyside Darts.

Normal solos on town services today.

14196 on the 81
16663 on the 80.
14204 on the 41 as well as 20451
16666 on the 6a!!!! Annoying thing about that is that there was a Versa sitting dead at the bus station as 16666 left and there was also a Solo on the route.
An 07 plate solo branded for the 84 was on the 89.

evening services depend what bus is on during the day usually.
Workington Town Services are usually operated by whatever is running 46A during the day. having not seen the 46A today, i have no idea what it was.
the evening Cockermouth X5 is operated by whatever is on the 50, unless a better bus is available at the bus station. it is usually the bus on Moorclose Circular 50.
Whitehaven Town Services (evening 22) are usually operated by the bus allocated to Mirehouse Circular 3 (i think).
the evening Keswick X5 is operated by any available bus, but its usually whatever is on the 1 during the day.
