Workington... Yay.
Don't think you've missed anything there... hmmm :lol:

Does anyone know why 33168 and 20763 were being driven around Carlisle by Cumbria Police Officers? Strange one is that.....

Spotted you today Gez walking away from Dalton Square cap under arm :)

Also is there defo nothing new (as in brand new) coming for the X12?

I noticed today that some of the holes in the bus station apron have been filled in which is good!

Must have been heading to the Borough Club for a couple of wind down beverages, The Versas are going to Aberdeen

2x E200s for Preston and that's it in the way of brand-new buses. (AFAIK)

I wonder if Carlisle Police were thinking of following Merseyside's example and using Stagecoach vehicles as Battle Buses? Or purchasing them for Road Saftey training....

First time online for a couple of days! (Busy Busy in my new job!!!)

I am now officially converted from being a Volvo Olympian Hater....

Well, 16447, that is, to be exact.

During my lunchbreak yesterday, i had a stroll through Workington Bus Station, and in came 16447... on 300s, pulling into the whitehaven-bound stand... as i was walking from back to front of the station, it was idling in, alongside me :roll:, at my walking pace (for 2/3 the length of the bus station). I have to say... What a sound that thing makes! i am not a fan of that engine, but it did sound good!! :lol:

Two more of Manchester's E400H's have arrived these been 12029/30. Apparently they have a top speed of 40MPH so have to be transported at night as its unsafe to drive under 50MPH on a motorway in daylight! I once thought that SCNW just might see cast offs from Manc with the arrival of new buses but I doubt it very much now as I've been told theres little chance!

Also this has been posted on another forum:

* 56 electric-hybrid ADL Enviro400H double-deckers: 26 for Oxford (12001-26) and 30 for Manchester (12027-56)

* 63 ADL Trident 2/ADL Enviro400 double-deckers: we understand the likely allocation will be to Newcastle, Hull, Cambridgeshire and a number of Scottish depots (19xxx)

* 100 Scania/ADL Enviro400 double-deckers: 27 for Ardrossan/Kilmarnock (15621-47); 3 for Swindon (15648-50); 6 for Lincoln (15651-6 - for use on the new Executive Connect X3, as reviewed in the latest copy of the LEYTR magazine); 3 for Fenstanton (15657-9); 10 for Exmouth (15660-9); 9 for Stratford-upon-Avon (15670-8 ); 4 for Morecambe (15679-82); 4 for Lilyhall (15683-6); 10 for Chesterfield (15687-96); 4 for Carlisle (15697-700); and the remainder (15701-20) yet to be officially allocated

* 70 MAN/ADL Enviro300 single-deckers: 2 for Caithness (27631/2); 9 for Lincoln (27633-41 - allocated to Services 27 & 66); 22 for Chichester/Portsmouth/Worthing (27642-63 - Service 700); 17 for Worthing (27664-80); 6 for Northampton (27681-6); 14 for Cwmbran (27687-700)

* 76 ADL Dart SLFs/ADL Enviro200 single-deckers: 22 for Ayr (36131-52); 24 for Nuneaton (36153-76); and the remaining 30 (36177-206) as yet to be officially allocated

* 16 Volvo B9R/Plaxton Elite coaches (built at Plaxton subsidiary, Scarborough): 5 for Oxford (53701-5); 6 for Peterborough (53706-11); 5 for Chesterfield (53712-6)

* 1 Volvo B13B/Plaxton Panther (built at Plaxton subsidiary, Scarborough): likely to be allocated to a Megabusplus service

Few issues, Morecambe shown as getting only 4 when we are getting 8 and CE are shown as getting 4 which I think is untrue as the numbers of the ones shown are the numbers for Morecambes remaining 4. Also he has split the E400H's and the E400's into 2 groups. The official order published by SC however just shows 63 E400 deckers. Have the E400H's just been missed off or were they part of last years order?

Only 22824 that is parked back fence awaiting to go to carlisle for repaint

Ace they doing the seats as well? Hope they get on with fitting CCTV to those MANs as well, they did a few but then stopped.

I wonder if the B10's will be touched anytime soon, or the 04 solos for that matter!

Also totally off topic but apparently First are meant to be vacating North Devon by the end of September, I'm not sure how true this is as I can't fidn any other info.This could mean that SC expand into this area but who knows. I'm surprised that First have scaled down their operations all over the country and aren't focused on expansion.

The following changes have been published on the SC website. I'm sure its all been mentioned before but thought I would repeat it anyway just in case anyone can see anything different.

Barrow Area Changes

5 Barrow - North Scale

The timetable of this Cumbria County Council service is revised, with some journeys withdrawn on schooldays.

6, 6A, X6

This service will have a revised, improved and much simplified timetable. Buses will still operate every 20 mins Monday to Saturday daytimes and there will be no changes to the Sunday timetable. The new X6 service will provide additional fast buses between Ulverston, Croftlands, Barrow and BAe Systems, replacing the old 6S. The school and college day diversions (6B and 6C) via Rating Lane will be discontinued and all buses will now follow the standard 6 or 6A routes. The little used off-peak 6X journeys are withdrawn.

7 Barrow schools and colleges - Askam - Kirkby - Broughton - Millom

These services will be extensively revised to meet the new Cumbria County Council contract commitments from the start of the school term. Buses to John Ruskin School at Coniston and Dowdales School at Dalton, will now be provided by other bus companies.

7, 7A, X7 Barrow - Askam - Ireleth - Kirkby - Broughton - Millom - Haverigg

We are pleased to announce that following funding from Cumbria County Council, the service 7A link between Askam and Dalton will be retained, along with a number of additional service 7 journeys to/from Barrow. Stagecoach will also be providing several commercial journeys between Barrow and Millom, in addition to those scholars journeys shown under the service 7 heading above.

Customers should note that the X7 number will no longer be used. Buses from Barrow to Millom will run as the 7, journeys via Dalton as 7A and the Sunday journeys will be 7B.

10 Barrow - Ulverston

11 Barrow - Ulverston

60 Ulverston - South Ulverston

Some journeys will also extend to/from Preston College, replacing the previous contract buses. The new extensions beyond Accrington are mainly to cater for Preston College students, but are of course open to all customers and we hope they prove a useful link through to Preston for commuters too.
