Its now a regular occurrence to be standing all the way to the Uni but SC Lancaster have been great with providing extra services and shuttle services where needed to try and ease the over overcrowding!

I really do not see what all the fuss is about, I've been standing on buses, since I was a kid because they are full.
I will post a picture later on of what used to runs on the original Uni Sprint, when I have chance to scan them, yep finally got a scanner so severl thousand to get through.

I'm so much moaning as it can't be helped and its not like its a long journey lol! I was just commenting on the overcrowding :) I look forward to seeing those pics!

14195 left the Uni at about 6, not sure what it was doing but was in service.

Also 15469 (Preston) is over at Plaxton in Sheffield.

there has been talk of a Dart going to Carlisle from Merseyside, to operate the short 685. it has just been a case of "is it actually going to happen or is it just rumour?" none of the 4 mini Darts Carlisle have are properly wheelchair accessible, but they do have the wheelchair space and kneel. 34048 also has the holes on the edge of the step for a ramp to slot into, but I haven't managed to see a ramp on it! (usually in a box in luggage space, but it isn't there).

20945 has replaced 16652 on Moorclose 50. 16652 is now on 30 and 31, with 16651, 17017, 35247 and 35249.
47617 on Harrington.

47616 on 1.
35248 on 2.
47007 on 3.
47060 (i think) on 4.
34616 and 35246 on 31A. (so yes, Whitehaven's town services are fully low floor, whilst Workington have 3 step entrances on. surprise surprise )
20994 on 22.

47059 on short 300's. it was rear ended at approx 1635 heading out of Whitehaven, but sustained very very little damage! (if any at all actually! I couldn't see a bump or a mark on it) unlike the car that went into it
think it was all 4 Scania's on 300.

obviously, with 34218 being on Moorclose 50, I had to go for a ride! as expected, it rides a bit like a Marshall, but, it picked up speed rather well, wasn't overly bouncy, and most unsurprisingly for an old Dart, its gearbox didn't a*se around either! unlike the Marshalls, it could actually make its mind up whether or not it was time for a gear change (33168 especially used to change its mind a few times! "better change up now! actually, I want to stay in 2nd, on second thought, i'd better go up into 3rd, actually, i'll lose power, so 2nd, no, i want 3rd!").
34218's Bright Tech LED display has been replaced with a Hanover one, however its Bright Tech control unit is still in place

Stored ex merseyside dart 34214 left morecambe at dinner to go to carlisle, that could be the dart for the service.

I think you're right, wonder if they will brand it as originally planned lol!

if it does enter service for short 685, branding would be good on it! we'll just have to wait see!

forgot to say in earlier post that Chorley's 16670 arrived safely at Carlisle this morning, complete with its old Fylde Coastliner branding, for a repaint.

Dragon 15180 is the only one left in service in Manchester. It will soon join the other 19 which have been stored and are awaiting collection by their new owner.

47616 on 1.
35248 on 2.
47007 on 3.
47060 (i think) on 4.
34616 and 35246 on 31A. (so yes, Whitehaven's town services are fully low floor, whilst Workington have 3 step entrances on. surprise surprise )

Thats always going to be the case, no Whitehaven town services are suitable for Large vehicles, hence they get allocated to Workington. Also service 50/51 is not advertised as a low floor service, since the service 46/47 was split due to the extended journey to Seaton an extra bus was required and as you all know a low floor vehicle was not allocated to the depot.

Also heard that 42025 has been withdrawn and another Liverpool Dart is on its way

instead, 33167/8 were withdrawn, then 33169 replaced by 47474, for 47474 to go with no replacement

34215 is supposedly up for transfer to North West. 34219 was as well, but Merseyside have put it back into service.

Well, they've just got a Dart from Merseyside, with another expected to follow, so you never know. ;)

Plus Mersey still have one in service and if they withdraw that again it could move up! I think things are looking up!

Youths crash bus
Two male youths smashed a bus into another after getting into the Stagecoach depot in Willowholme on Tuesday evening. The youths fled afterwards. Phone 0845 3300247.

(News & Star, Thursday 11th November 2010, page 2)

rather a coincidence that this has happened after Reays started "competing" routes in Carlisle, and 2 "youths" telling passengers to use Reays because Stagecoach are "fare stealers", plus it being 2 male "youths" at the bus station on monday evening, with 1 of them shouting "Stagecoach are a f*cking joke".
not sure if them 2 young men are related to the incident, but things happening makes it seem that way to me!

Interesting that these "youths" also knew how to start a bus...(I'm going to assume that the main isolater switch was off)

mmmmm some strong accusations there! If it was darts they smashed then maybe but if it was anything else then probably not but an interesting thought all the same!
