Steam around the Edinburgh South Suburban loop 03/03/19

Were there any steam special excursions in Central Scotland recently? The reason I ask is, I had just parked up my car and was heading off to my flat, when a Steam locomotive with one carriage was heading toward Millerhill, waved to the driver as he gave a toot of the whistle and waved back!
Any info will be greatly appreciated!

Yes it was probably Tornado running to Millerhill after working the tour from Doncaster to Edinburgh

That would have been 60163 Tornado after working a train from Doncaster to Edinburgh.

Thanks for the info! It was a fantastic sight! I take it that it will be stabled at Millerhill and Ferryhill in that case? I will have to look out for it when it passes my house!

The fact that the Aberdonian is due to run behind Tornado appears to confirm that the Ferryhill turntable is now definitely operable for this year's steam trains???

Yes, the first use of the turntable will be on the 14th of this month.
