On 29 June 1957 the last BR passenger trains ran between Princes Risborough & Chinnor (and Watlington). To commemorate 60 years since BR passenger closure we are delighted to say that thanks to our fantastic friends at Didcot Railway Centre, the historic Edwardian period Steam Railmotor No. 93. and Trailer will be working our services on Saturdays and Sundays 1-2 July, 8-9 July, 15-16 July 2017. Note this is subject to Network Rail gauging approval and which we hope to confirm shortly.

Historically, in 1906 a Steam Railmotor began plying for custom along the branch - picking up and setting down passengers at Chinnor and the new halts along the line such as Bledlow Bridge. In the same year (1906) the platform we are busily restoring at Princes Risborough (to provide an interchange facility at a date to be announced), was also introduced.

DEPARTURE TIMES:

The Steam Railmotor and Trailer trains will depart Chinnor station on 1-2 July, 8-9 July, 15-16 July 2017 at 10.00, 11.25, 12.30, 13.50, 14.55 and 16.00. Subject to Network Rail agreement on the day we will aim to run most services into our leased siding at Princes Risborough station (but note there is no platform available to join or alight at this location). Each round trip takes approximately 55 - 65 minutes in duration.

Please bring along your copy of the magazine to present with your online ticket on the day. If you are looking for our more general travel offer and arrangements to travel in the main saloon and trailer car on 1-2 July, 8-9 July, 15-16 July 2017 please see here.
