Although the Orient Express makes a welcome weekly break to endless cl377's and still a large number of slammers; the motive power has invariably been a cl67 since I last noted a Battle of Britain class before Christmas 2004.
Time at Chilham is about 13.30 on Fridays, and much to my surprise, last Friday the whistle as the train approaching the curve entering Chilham could only have been STEAM! :P :P
Unfortunately, I had only a couple of seconds to get a view. I THINK it was a 'Schools' class, hauling a full rake of C1 coaching stock, all in Southern Railway green.
In the same week, the hum and rattle of Slammers and Cl377 gave way to the whine of a single 4 car Cl455! This has been in regular use all week.
