Stoke-on-Trent to Kidderminster 2/5/15

Looking at doing Stoke to Kidderminster for SVR on the 2nd of May when they have a Deltic running, and notice that there is a diversion on crosscountry, would a Stoke to kiddderminster return with 16-25 railcard discount be valid on the diverted trains as far as New Street?

Perfectly valid to travel on the diverted XC services.

Thought so, Couldn't get the itinerary to show on NRE, it was showing a change at Tamworth.

Can someone recommend an itinerary including the diversions which involves arriving in time to buy my SVR ticket and catch the 09:55 and returning after the arrival of the 18:30 into Kidderminster SVR
