Possibly the same as this?

This seemed to be a bit of a Southern Railway/ Region thing. Dogs (alive) were used to collect money from passengers to support the Woking Children's Home. When the dogs shuffled off their mortal coil they were stuffed, put in a glass case, and continued to garner donations.
