Would there ever be a case for regular England>Marches services?
Thinking a Bristol - Newport (reverse) - Marches - Liverpool, possibly? Would link Bristol to those towns, and provide Liverpool-Bristol, which surely is as important as Liverpool-Cardiff? Perhaps the alternate hours.
Anyway a slight tangent not worth its own thread - but thinking Marches capacity and how, if resignalled, it could be further used as a WCML/XC/ relief and Birmingham avoider on a national level.
And of course, the Ebbw frequencies. Abertillery surely plays into that, but I'e not see anything too conclusive on when and how much - it's not a super complex job.
Ebbw Vale redoubling
Is there somebody on here who can report on progress with redoubling of (I think) a seven mile section of the Ebbw Vale branch? I'm sure it was due to be finished in 2016, and when I last travelled on the line in January of that year, a lot of the new track was already down. We're all used to...
