Does anyone know what the order is when switching from AC to DC or from DC to AC on trains.

When switching from AC to DC is it:

a. lower the pantograph then lower the shoe

or

b. lower the shoe then lower the pantograph

When switching from DC to AC is it:

a. raise the shoe then raise the pantograph

or

b. raise the pantograph then raise the shoe

Thank you in advance for any information regarding these questions.

For something like a 377 or 387 it's a) in both cases. But bear in mind on something like a 319 and now 769 the shoes are not retractable so you can have the pan up and the shoes on the 3rd rail at the same time.
