Managed to ride both the Class 455 with the Ex 210/457 carriages today. I also managed to get a photo of the pair at Waterloo too.

Looks like somehow, from today's timetable change, the Reading line has gained another 455 service in the evening, 2C71 off Waterloo (21.50 to Bracknell) used to be a 450 formed off a Portsmouth service but today is showing as 455s 730/864
So much for reducing their use on the Windsor lines

They're back on Sundays as well.

At this rate the Reading line will be converted entirely to 455 as everything else goes over to 701s.

I see that the usual Reading all day 455 diagram starting with 2C07 is a 450 today, is this a permanent change or will it be back to 455s next week?

Back to 455s next week. It's still not a normal service in operation today and tomorrow.

Conversely, one of the sheppy diagrams this week is 455s and ends on 1S77 woking via staines (normally 444 or 450). Whenever I catch that I see a lot of late-nighters on it queuing for the toilets, so they're going to have a surprise!

I don’t think there are any 455s at Long Marston.

5722 went to Newport
Half of 5917 went to Newport half went to Beeston someone told me.

After 6 months out of service with its corrosion repairs in Kilmarnock, 455904 has finally re-appeared in one piece today albeit heading to Bournemouth for further work to be undertaken?

That 455s are still having corrosion repairs undertaken speaks volumes about the 701 (non) roll-out. You'd expect that by this stage anything with significant corrosion requiring attention would be junked.

5736 was carted off to Newport for the chop in two batches some time in the 2nd quarter of 2022-I have dashcam footage somewhere of it passing me on the M25!

Indeed. Those coaches have now been scrapped.

what a waste of good coaches!
Non-standard trailer coaches with no toilet or cab. No point in letting them sit around unused and rotting, which is what would have happened otherwise.

Although given how well the 701 non-introduction is going maybe they could have been used to reform 458/5s.
