Could be an interesting next 3 months for us all awaiting a DMI etc. Hopefully a positively eventful one.

Been waiting for my DMI since Jan 2024, recruitment told me they’ll probably give me a DMI in 2025 when they release more driver training courses. As the pre Covid applicants filled the 2024 spaces.. but from your message that might not be the case?

What Depot might that be? 2025 tbh isn't too bad of a wait if they're that backlogged in recruitment but I was told to expect that could be slightly sped up by the gradual 701 training and roll out.

Strawberry hill, was told there’s not any movement there yet and I doubt there will be for a long while but I’m staying hopeful. what depot did you apply for mate? Hopefully that would be good news for us! I was told something quite similar, along the lines of they plan to get the trainees trained in the 701s as part of the trainee driver training courses.

I went for the little depot of Feltham, tho would also apply for Waterloo if given the chance as its nearer to me even though I'm aware its got more of the work!
Strawberry Hill I hear indeed is quite tight as of now but who knows once full 701 rollout happens, whenever that is.

2025 seems so far away :(
I mean things can change and what @Samzino said may be the case.. hopefully haha. I was just told that there’s no more spaces on trainee driver courses for the whole of this year, they have to wait for the resources team to issue new training courses first and was told this will possibly be next year, they didn’t really specify when :(

Waterloo would be a nice touch, a lot of work but a lot of variety like Wimbledon.

When you log into first careers, is your application & emails from swr still showing? Somehow mine has gone?! It was fine a few months ago.. Every time I click on the emails tab I get “access denied” and I’m kinda worried lol, hoping I’m like still in the talent pool

Yeah just called them, they said it’s probably a glitch or application & that I’m still in the process so all good.

Fab. Shame tho of there is no more movement for this year in terms of vaccancies. Makes sense to be fair considering they'd now have resources tied down for the 701 roll out, but after that's St least started moving properly with actual diagrams rolling out I'd expect they'd see gaps to fill as resources open up again.

Has there been any more assessments for this campaign or are most waiting for interviews?

Mixture I believe, I was told I’m in a long list of candidates even from pre Covid times which they’re getting priority since they’ve waited longer than us. But still no update on my end yet,

Dang well I do wonder how up to date that list is, assuming some of those haven't already found TOCs to go to between the long wait as I do indeed remember how long and chaotic the process was for some pals who were in for Waterloo and Guildford, 3 out of the 4 ending up at other TOCs and passing out way before our last remaining friend who did get a place.

I applied to the campaign not long after this for Yeovil and Feltham, things went very rapid in the last month and I've been able to grab a place on a course with SWR, later in the year. Quite chuffed as they're a great TOC to work for from those that I personally know in the company aswell as my own experiences.

HR Recruitment are top guys and gals and whilst it may seem slow, believe me it can all when ready, move in the blink of an eye! Best of luck to those waiting.

Fingers crossed, yeah all you can do is try and learn as much as you can on the company. Even having a nosy around the local stations and politely asking one or two drivers a quick question if possible is great, very kind and polite gals and gals there.
