Two new Volvo BZL single-deckers in the yard at Hyde Road, couldn't get an identification for them
Yes there are penalties for dirty buses, the issue is the larger depots like Ashton are owned by TFGM and the equipment in the depot is down to TFGM to maintain, so chances are the wash is broken and unlike previously when stagecoach would simply call out an engineer, it’s now got to go through various departments to get the OK to get any work done or even call an engineer out.Can i ask a question to those in the know, is there any stipulations in contracts as to the exterior cleanliness of buses?
I only ask as Ashton has only half heartedly washed theirs twice since the commencement of tranche 3, hardly a good advertisement for the bee network?
Should be six of them, they are due to be number VMS361-366Two new Volvo BZL single-deckers in the yard at Hyde Road, couldn't get an identification for them
The O530s still have a good 2 years of service if they follow the 15 year rule. 4 years for O295Many of the GNW Mercedes single deckers are still in Diamond colours are they being earmarked for replacement
Volvo BZL deliveries are well on track so thankfully the B9 usage is dropping fast. Yeah I'm not crazy about that interior, just looks dirty and aged regardless of whether its clean or not.Haven’t seen any nasty B9s on the 38 Logistics lately. Are they finally history for this route?
Mind you, the green interior Stagecoaches are HORRENDOUS.
If they are staying they’ll probably commence refurbs soon, StreetDeck painting is done, now it’s just refurbing remaining already painted StreetDecks, same with the e200s just need interiors done. Another evoSeti has been painted yellow but with its interior done aswell and needs to return to Denton for inspection before being used on 163 at Heywood. The O530s still have a good 2 years of service if they follow the 15 year rule. 4 years for O295

This was mentioned earlier up the thread yet I've never seen or heard any announcement whatsoever... I can happily live under a rock at times, so if I've missed it then okay but I think this is a case of Chinese whispers...I thought TfGM had announced the 163 is getting electrics ? Or is this a temporary situation ?
It never was announced that’s why. The only ones ‘confirmed’ by TfGM was 98, 471, 472/4, 475 etc. This was mentioned earlier up the thread yet I've never seen or heard any announcement whatsoever... Then that's the answer... Chinese whispers. It never was announced that’s why. The only ones ‘confirmed’ by TfGM was 98, 471, 472/4, 475 etc.
That would make sense, Queens road is currently being electrified and it’s expected the batch of E100’s will now come to Queens for 475/477/487 etc.It never was announced that’s why. The only ones ‘confirmed’ by TfGM was 98, 471, 472/4, 475 etc.
Wow I didn’t think it would happen this soon but that’s great to hearThat would make sense, Queens road is currently being electrified and it’s expected the batch of E100’s will now come to Queens for 475/477/487 etc.
Guess free bus will get E100s as well. That would make sense, Queens road is currently being electrified and it’s expected the batch of E100’s will now come to Queens for 475/477/487 etc.
There’s only 4 E100s for Bury locals (the strata work). Free bus due some of the surplus displaced BZL Single Deckers originally intended for Stockport which aren’t going to Metroline or Middleton.Guess free bus will get E100s as well.
I noticed it in the agenda pack for the October 24 GM Air Quality Commission - page 104.This was mentioned earlier up the thread yet I've never seen or heard any announcement whatsoever... Thanks for sending this, been looking everywhere for it. Just a note, it’s weird to not see that the 469 Bury - Tottington service is not a service to be electrified as it does go through the A58 Bolton Street in Bury, which the other services listed do. Didn’t know the 135 was due to be electrified but it’s nice to see.I noticed it in the agenda pack for the October 24 GM Air Quality Commission - page 104.
Clears that up then I wonder where the Strata’s will go then as I thought Queens Road were keeping themThere’s only 4 E100s for Bury locals (the strata work). That's a shame, I've been rather enjoying the E400MMCs on the 98. Do we know yet what double deck EV's (if any) have been ordered for Queens Road? That would make sense, Queens road is currently being electrified and it’s expected the batch of E100’s will now come to Queens for 475/477/487 etc.
I’m sure they will still sneak on there but 97/98 and 135 will all go electric as they interwork at present. That's a shame, I've been rather enjoying the E400MMCs on the 98. Do we know yet what double deck EV's (if any) have been ordered for Queens Road?
Given how much time they spend off the road hopefully the scrap yard!Clears that up then I wonder where the Strata’s will go then as I thought Queens Road were keeping them
I’d imagine they will replace some of the E200’s so will be used on 90/94/480/149 etc. There’s only 4 E100s for Bury locals (the strata work). Free bus due some of the surplus displaced BZL Single Deckers originally intended for Stockport which aren’t going to Metroline or Middleton.
They are putting the cabling in and fitting the sub station at the moment.Do we know what stage Queens Road Depot is at in terms of electrification, or has it got a while to go until anything EV can operate out of it
Some of those vehicle requirements seem very high eg. 20 for the 471. Looking at the timetable I can’t see the PVR (Peak Vehicle Requirement) being more than 16, so having 4 spare would be very excessive, especially for new buses. Am I missing something, or is this just part of the movement towards public sector thinking?I noticed it in the agenda pack for the October 24 GM Air Quality Commission - page 104.
Electrics don’t last all day you know. Some of those vehicle requirements seem very high eg. 20 for the 471. They should be going to Diamond Eccles, replacing solosGiven how much time they spend off the road hopefully the scrap yard!
If that’s the reason, that will add significant operational costs, so let’s hope TfGM have deep pockets, especially if that’s being replicated across the area.Electrics don’t last all day you know.
Glasgow have done the same with their airport route pvr of 7 with 3 spare that's the diesel buses they have ordered 11 electric buses for the route with no improvement to the timetable so that will leave 4 spareIf that’s the reason, that will add significant operational costs, so let’s hope TfGM have deep pockets, especially if that’s being replicated across the area.
Many other cities seem to cope without having huge spare capacity added in.
