Just spied a Bee Network liveried Volvo B8R MCV single (24 plate) on delivery running down the A6, Chapel St at 15:00...

Also, the first 5 former Oxford B5s are now garaged at Queens, 3 two tone red ones and 2 blue ones. Annoyingly, phone had gone flat, so no pics or numbers...
according to a list i have Queens to get 13175 to 13179 and 13181

Presumably they will put bee network stickers over any signs of the busway - it'll just become another strange coloured bus to most people.
All the hire-ins, which 21367 is, will just get stickers. They'll leave Manchester once all the brand new stuff for SC arrives

For anyone wanting photos etc it appears that Stagecoach is using Man Utds car park N3 as some sort of staging area prior to the big move around on Sunday morning...

Looks like Go North West withdrew around 30 single deck vehicles last night so I can imagine the deckers will be putting a shift in today!

the middle of pointless protests

Out of curiuosioty, given when this post was made, and the date of when the below photo was taken, could this have been the Evora in the below photo? (not my photo)

I think this info comes from tests as the E400s are still on the normal Stagecoach list and at the time of the bee network record 19250 was on a 119. Also, most are on the 938 and a 1041X class bus actually tracked on the service so I would think someone was setting up the new ticket machines and using live services to test them. The same applies to the 665 tracking; these buses did not track, but another schools fleet bus actually tracked on those timings. I think we will get quite a few false readings as I have seen quite a few buses not tracking and BN61NWE and NWF were both working for Go North West on service 41 today.

I was going to say, no GNW vehicles will transfer to Stagecoach until 2am so the info on Bustimes is false.

It’s sometimes worth actually clicking on the record and seeing if the bus actually plotted a map. If it just tracked stationery in the depot, then it wasn’t in service

Those people who change BusTimes never do these checks as they want to just be the first to change the fleetlists

Quite impressive seeing lines of E400MMCs in yellow heading along the M602 just now, obviously heading to Oldham...

Think this was just them testing the trackers. If you open the maps of the their journeys, its either empty or a short trip in the yard

Stagecoach tracking is live. I repeat, Stagecoach tracking is live.

Didn't even know they were doing this as well, but two 24-plate Solo SRs are in there. Had no idea they were getting new SRs

Are there really two batches of four Stratas for Manchester with slightly different fleet numbers?

Yes. Different chassis too, which rather explains the fleetnumbers!
Different lengths rather than chassis I assume as the Strata is Sprinter based. Mellor’s press release for the Bee Network orders only mentioned four for Stagecoach. Hopefully they will be at different depot as having 44901 and 49901 as similar buses in one depot would confuse me!

@Leyland Bus just wondering if there has been any repaints recently at Bolton or if any have been sent off for refurbishment.
To be honest, after the front ends for Heywood based school buses, the whole of last week and weekend was spent helping clear Queens Road ready for Stagecoach coming in. We have a Citaro to paint for Manchester College (6215) and a "special project" that I can't disclose yet.

Plus, on top of that, we're off work for a fortnight (it really takes it out of you emptying a bus depot ) so let's see what pans out when we're back :D

Thanks as always for the reply, read that the Citaro was being used for something but will await what that will be :D Enjoy your time off!

Are the electrics at Sharston part funded by TfGM so are more likely to have arrangements to be passed on to the new operator. Or did I dream that ?

Also, the announcement says there are a further 120 electrics to come for tranche 3. As there are already 170 new electrics ordered for Stockport the 120 must be presumably for Metroline ?

But will they arrive in time?

When the whole tendering arrangements were agreed at the outset, aside from the garages which are difficult to move around , was there a census of existing buses which could be passed around new operators (which would stop the likes of Stagecoach transferring time expired buses into the 'pool'), or was nothing specified?

Metroline (CDG) have around 1200 buses in London. There have not been any contract loses recently - in fact they have gained the E1 and 28, but some contract renewals have called for around 150 new electric buses. Will they be delivered before January 2025, and will the recharging facilities be up and running by then to allow existing buses to transfer to Manchester?

So potentially 120 TfGM ordered buses and 150 transfers from London, which leaves around 100 others to find. Maybe a mixture of a few transfers from Cardiff and some new buses?
