I passed the online test for operation officer vacancy. Next step is role play and interview. Could anyone share any light on what they will ask or how the next process is?

How are the new starters finding the job so far?
It seems that many people had gotten the job and forgot about the forum as there’s no many people sharing information, once I get my assessment date with TFL I’ll be posting my own experiences and share as much as possible

Hi

I passed the online test for operation officer vacancy. Next step is role play and interview. Could anyone share any light on what they will ask or how the next process is?

things may have changed from when most of us had the interview.
The interview was 3 questions.

A time I had to deal with change

A time I had to follow safety rules

A time I had to work towards delivering For the bigger picture.

All answered in star format.

I didn't do a role play, I had to watch a short video and asked what was wrong with it and what I would do differently.

The interview and video was less then a hour.

Hope this helps and good luck

Hi there guys, I started this original thread and like yourselves wanted so many Answers as there's nothing online or even on this forum.
I'm currently in training, the reason I can't answer some early questions are simply I can't remember, it took over a year from applying to start date, it's a very long drawn out process and trust me it's no quicker when you start, the saying is it's a marathon not a sprint.

There are no hidden answers trust me... If you get to start all will become clear as I still have loads of questions and I have started.

All I can tell you is the training is intense, takes around 4 months the staff and managers that I have come into contact with are fantastic. Watch you tube "TFL at war with fare dodgers" it gives you a good understanding of what to expect. Also if your ever in London at see some CPOS officers speak to them, there all very friendly ask them about the job.

Good luck with everything and trust me be patient, I know it's hard I went a whole year checking emails every 5 minutes.

Did you got a job offer on the same day you done the interview ?

Is that for your video role play and interview?
TfL been sending this email was send on the 14th of February, I think he’s referring to the message below.

Thank you for your patience while we arrange the next phase of the recruitment process for the position of Operations Officer (Days - Full Time) - 047400.

We are still finalising assessment dates, and you will receive an invite to the assessment centre via email within the next 2 weeks.

Please ensure you monitor your emails regularly including junk/spam folders and book on to the assessment centre once you receive the booking link.

In the meantime, you do not need to contact us. As soon as we finalise our assessment dates we will be in contact with you and send you a booking link.

We wish you every success with your application.

I am in the same boat Joe. I've contacted TFL twice now since I got that same message you received, more so to confirm the process is still going ahead!? as I've never really heard of this kind of delay without a real explanation. The previous two conversations with TFL Recruitment have essentially been "we don't know" which is kind of alarming. They couldn't even confirm if they had 'pulled the plug' or not?

I have asked staff around stations and a range of different answers but no Operations Officer had joined recently. The earliest was early 2023. Only spoken to a handful.

It seems they had a huge campaign with the Apprenticeships just recently which is coming to a close so that very well could explain the delay? The repeat message I hear is the length of time everyone has had to wait before progressing at every stage so there is hope. I may just wait until the end of April for a notice before I officially move on. I've not applied anywhere else as I'm keen on this role.

Keep me updated if you can, I'll do the same.

Mo.

Hello mate just got this email today … it seems that they’ll be sending emails in mid April… also do you know the shift pattern ?

Thank for your application and your patience while we are working through the Operations Officer campaign.

Currently we have an extremely high number of candidates to work through at AC1 and we are anticipating that we will have invites sent out by mid April.

We are working through candidates as quickly as we can and will be sending invites in batches, but as you can appreciate the high volume does impact the speed in which we can deliver these assessments. Please note: You do not need to contact us, we will email you as and when dates are opened.

We would like to thank you for your support and patience during this time and will be in touch soon.

Kind Regards,
The Transport for London High Volume Recruitment Team

Sometime in December.
Me too. I’m waiting for the next steps of the process. I haven’t yet received the above email. Called them though, they said it will happen within this month.

Hey, for operational Officer vacancy, for the interview stage, is it only Scenario based interview questions or will they add additional questions with the scenario based interview questions?
If so what sort of additional questions do they ask?

Please someone shed light on this

Hi All, I recently passed my vetting for this role.

I was told that start dates will be no earlier than April and there is a significant number of people of the waiting list, so my start date would likely be no earlier than Autumn. Did anyone else waiting for start dates receive something similar?

For those currently in training, how did you find the medical?

How is your training going? What is the dress code like – Office attire/ smart casual?

Hello,
Sorry to ask, but when did you apply?

I’ve applied in April 2024, received the conditional offer in July. I’m still going through the vetting at this stage.

Not sure if there’s anyone else in my position. I already emailed them a couple of times and I always receive the same answer, that vetting can take up to six months. It’s been 9 months already
