Not quite sure what you are angling at here. Simply put, Digital signalling has a long way to go to implementation (if ever) so we have to manage with the infrastructure we have and make better use of it. If in the short to medium term that means less seats and more standing then I am afraid, yes, its tough but thats what will have to happen whether it be Networkers re-configured inside or new trains similar to Class 378s, which in themselves even if a contract is signed today would be 3 to 4 years away from entering service.TfL have suggested they would fix the capacity issues by the same techniques as NR, however TfL will remove seats while ensuring maximum capacity. Can you imagine the uproar if they remove around half the seats? Because that is one idea floating around. Or did you see the idea of removing all seats from the Networkers as a way to increase capacity?
Any new extension of the Bakerloo line to relieve the pressure is at least ten years away and probably more.
Camden Town is a silly comparison as basically LUL kept getting refused building permission due to the wrecking of a busy historical area that takes nothing into account of the the locals and councils want. Case of failing to learn from ones history meaning they have been doomed to failure over and over.
Thats as maybe. But TfL have still been trying for years to split the Northern line for years in a similar way to modifying SE routes to increase capacity. If the SE local population had their way they wouldn't get all the capavity they need.
