Isn’t that 170’s are known for there really slow acceleration for a DMU which imo not really suited for all stopper service with stops so close together. As when first introduced were designed for regional express services with limited stops.I travelled Gloucester to Cardiff yesterday and though it left Cheltenham on time it still managed to gain a 6 min delay en route without any obvious reason (red signals, TSRs) why
That's what I was going to say, but didn't.Isn’t that 170’s are known for there really slow acceleration for a DMU which imo not really suited for all stopper service with stops so close together. As when first introduced were designed for regional express services with limited stops.
203 was in service yesterday, as I was on itThat's what I was going to say, but didn't.
170203 has now entered service, seen on the 1534 Cardiff Central-Ebbw Vale Town today (7/1/20). This means that 7 of them have now been used by TfW in service - 170272/273/201/202/203/207/208.
Will correct the list, thanks203 was in service yesterday, as I was on it
I noticed the 170 struggled to keep time when I travelled last Saturday. It lost a few minutes between Maesteg and Bridgend and seemed to take ages for the doors to open at Bridgend. Lost a few more minutes before Cardiff, there was a Swanline not far behind it (150) which seemed to arrive almost immediately into platform 1 or 2 at Cardiff when I was getting off the 170 on Platform 4.Finally got on one yesterday 170201 1723 Cardiff > Maesteg.
Doors much more suitable for this service than the previous 175 we would have, but it was struggling to keep time for some reason.
Was this a 170 that has still not been to Tyseley yet ?

which units...? 170207 was the only TfW 170 that was still a direct delivery from Norwich, and it's done training and passenger service, so maybe one that has already been to Tyseley has gone back there...? And a 153, I wonder which one...Since heard from another Forum that the move was a 170 and a 153
Once again the question arises about the state in which the ex-GA units were transferred.which units...? 170207 was the only TfW 170 that was still a direct delivery from Norwich, and it's done training and passenger service, so maybe one that has already been to Tyseley has gone back there...? And a 153, I wonder which one...

Thanks, makes sense that it's one of the ones that hasn't yet been used in service with TfW.The 170 was 170270

What specifically has it still got that has been removed on the others...?170273 was running today. Still got all the GA stickers and everything inside, unlike the other 170s I’ve now been on.
Wierd, I thought they would've got rid of them!Exactly as it says in the original post...
So all the GA branded stickers, phone numbers, websites, adverts.

Ah, interesting. I wonder if it has gone for removal of that restriction it has (whatever that is)...?Incidentally 153 was 153361
Incidentally 153 was 153361
On its own...? Or did 170270 come back with it...?I don't know what 153361 went to Tyseley for but it came back the next day.
People have been pressing TFW in Tweets and on being quizzed about the low number of 170s in traffic, a reply said they were having MOTs.
On its own...? Or did 170270 come back with it...?
"MOTs" - right OK then
