HD01 is due a loco swap after 1V33 tomorrow, 67020 will come off whilst 67016 is planned on for 1W61.

Doesn't entirely surprise me, thick black smoke pouring out as it zoomed past Ludlow. Thankfully I was able to board 1V48 before everything stopped to get me back to Cardiff where I currently stand!

Something happened with 1W96 at Abergavenny.

Are there currently issues on the Marches? The 18:30 from Manchester is making good progress to Shrewsbury at least.

Braunton apparently started a fire at Craven Arms putting everything on stop. It ended up backlogging trains as far back as Abergavenny. I passed 1W96 on 1V48 earlier at Abergavenny where it was being held for that reason.

All down to the Craven Arms fire.

The 18:30 was expected to have a major delay as a result of this but some clever rejigging of Crew saw it on time.

5 diagrams again tomorrow, a diagram on Friday will be sacrificed to allow HD04 to have its exam Friday and Saturday with Sunday then carrying out some loco exams to help protect availability next week. Saturday will also lose a diagram.

Friday sub diagram will be the Crewe to Crewe 1V31 1W55 1V42 1W63 and also Saturday will have a diagram, likely 1V33 1W57 1V46 1W65 subbed

thanks for the update. They have done well to cover all diagrams this week as needed 100% to cover all diagrams.

Yes they have, diagramming requiring 100% availability would certainly not have even been considered even a few months back. It does show really how far the fleet has come. As far as im aware the only issue thats cropped up all week has been a wiper issue.

Thank you.

Well done to TfW for the rejigging. Being on the train it was impossible to spot any issues and that is a testament to the efforts behind the scenes. I think it is the first time I arrived at Pontypool early too.

Just a shame the M4 was then closed and they still haven't finished the Heads of the Valleys yet.

No Sunday should be OK.

Saturday is now expected to have 1V37 1W59 1V50 subbed instead of the 1V33 diagram. This does leave Canton with only 1 set for Monday
