TfW Class 67+Mk4 sets: trip planning/experiences, diagram updates etc

I've just been given a link to this thread, as my wife and I were intending to travel on this service later in the year (Sun 14th September)

It seems 'the 67' doesn't operate on a Sunday, so we may have to take a different route from Newcastle to Cardiff.

At least we should be OK, taking this train on our return, leaving Cardiff early, on Thursday 18th Sept.

Looking on YouTube, it seems the 'normal' TfW train from Manchester to Cardiff is often very small and no seat bookings are possible. I don't think my wife would fancy that idea

I had a very good journey on Tuesday morning on the 0847 Cardiff Central to Manchester Piccadilly. 67025 did the honours with a two minute early arrival at Crewe a bonus.

Even departures from Cardiff (e.g approx 04:30, 06:50, 08:50 etc) and then the odds from Crewe (07:10, 09:10, ...) The actual minutes vary a bit from hour to hour

Sunday is a terrible day to rely on XC anywhere south of Birmingham as you’ll see in other threads. But we’re way off topic.

HD06 is now due for its B exam, stretching things further into next week. Tomorrow night it's planned to finish at Crewe ETD rather than ATC and will be temporarily stored there until HD05 is moved to ATC and has its B exam completed.
This leaves only HD01/03/04/07 in service.

Tomorrow sees 4 diagrams but with 3 Crewe starts and 1 Cardiff. HD01 is planned to swap into 1W13 or 1V37 at crewe.
Sunday has the booked workings sets with HD03 out of Crewe and HD04 out of Cardiff

By looking at which locos are available at Crewe IEMD from yesterday, the only operational one I could find was 67012. It could possibly be that one. Take it with a grain of salt though!

Looks like it'll be 67012, that will then go onto 1V91 for tomorrow.

67016 will then make the long trek up from Canton to Holyhead tomorrow to collect 67025 and both will then go to Crewe ETD for repair.

Current set status after this:
67029+HD01 at Canton- Tomorrow 1W13 1V39 1W96
HD02 stored at Crewe/Worksop
HD03+67013 in service, tomorrow 1V33 1W59 1V50
67015+HD04 on service, tomorrow 1W55 1V42 1W63
HD05 still on final repairs to Cow strike at ETD before moving to ATC for exam
67008+HD06 Stabled at ETD pending exam
