Depending on what you compare with.
8 car 700 -v- 8 car 365. Same.
8 car 700 -v- 8 car 319. More
12 car 700 -v- 12 car 365 less
12 car 700 -v- 12 car 319 more.
assuming the 319 had 1st in one end of each 4 car set.
standard class seats reduced significantly on both comparable units.
This is first class seats. If you consider the rear declassified section the 700s have less.
Not seen first class full on departing Finsbury Park so don’t think it has caused an issue on the former great northern routes.Yes I am not counting the rear section of the 700 as it's declassified. How how 1st class ticket holders reacted? I can imagine a lot of them renewing their season tickets to standard if they often fail to get a seat.

the London - Cambridge I am not sure as the 387 doesn’t really have 1st class anymore, people are paying for the seat. When you see them and the 365s passing Finsbury Park it doesn’t look like the 1st class passengers will be disappointed.
No, but you may be right in saying there are fewer.Am I right in saying there are less 1st class seats on the class 700 than there used to be on the old trains before they were introduced? The Southern class 377, for a 12 coach, has at least 60 1st class seats.
