Anyone know why I might have just seen a Thameslink train at victoria? I actually spotted it on the bridge to victoria at 15:34, so I assume it was in the station, but perhaps sitting at a sidings somewhere just before?

Apologies if there is a more suitable thread for this!

It's for training. There is a daily Q path for it.

You most likely saw the driver training trips for Orpington (Thameslink) drivers into Victoria.

Am I right that they also have to store at least 1 unit in the station platforms overnight as there is nowhere else on the SE Network to store it?

TL services from Sevenoaks have been diverted to Victoria during engineering works, so drivers need to know those paths.
