Hi all,
For the last four years the former GNR(I) metals of Irish Rail have been a bit like the Alamo, resisting the 22000-class dmu as it spread across nearly every other line in the country. Today that battle was lost when sets 22006 and 22013 operated the 07:00 Dundalk to Dublin Connolly. In typical Irish weather I got this train from Balbriggan to Dublin.
Other pictures from the day include 073 and 229 on the two IWT liners; 076 on a light engine movement; 201s on the Cork services; and the other usual mix of dmus, including a 2800 which is now an endangered species in the Dublin region. Pictures here:
