Could someone please clarify for me if the Elizabeth line is going to be affected by the strikes taking place at the end of July .

Some websites say that it is part of TFL and therefore will not be affected by the national rail strikes.

However, the TFL website seems to indicate that the Elizabeth line will be affected by the national rail strikes and not the TFL strikes.

Further, the national rail website said at one point that the Elizabeth line would still be functioning, although stations that are managed by London underground, would be closed .

Which stations are these? For example will Tottenham Court Road be closed on the Elizabeth line when the Tottenham court road underground station is closed,. Are these one of the same or managed separately

All to be confirmed. Stations from Bond Street - Whitechapel (inclusive) are all managed by London Underground so if they can't meet the staffing levels, those stations will close. However as they'd be impacting another operator, they would be priority stations to cover, but I imagine intense work is still underway as to whether this is feasible. Whether it is feasible to run a train non-stop between Paddington - Canary Wharf is also an overcrowding risk in its own regard so perhaps it will run in 3 parts again.

As for the National Rail strikes there will be small impacts where there are interactions with other operators. E.g stations with GWR and Greater Anglia staffing. These tend to be limited towards the outer parts of the Elizabeth Line network.

Ultimately no staff on the Elizabeth Line are directly on strike (the owning company MTR has no disputes) but they will be indirectly affected by both actions, the impact of which is not 100% clear yet. Same is true of London Overground.

You would expect Elizabeth Line Core Stations will likely get staff from 0700-2200 and the other hours will be based on the luck of the day of whether be able to source staff from other TfL body to help filling the gap.

Elizabeth Line did plan to run non stop from Bond Street to Custom House after 2200 on the previous LU strike days, but at the end managed, so no need to do such non stop services.

Surely, though stations like Burnham which are now operated by TFL rail would not be affected by the strikes?

It depends on whether MTR decide to split the service into three parts. But broadly speaking, it shouldn't be affected too badly.

On the days of the National rail strike:

Thu 20th - Not serve Reading and Paddington NR before 0700 and after 1900. Not serve Shenfield after 2330.

Fri 21st - Not serve Reading and Paddington NR before 0700.

Sat 22nd - Not serve Reading and Paddington NR before 0700 and after 1900. Not serve Shenfield after 2330.

Sun 23rd - Not serve Reading and Paddington NR before 0700.

On the LU strike days, details have not been released but it’s expected that Bond St-Whitechapel will remain open majority of the day, with only one exit open at these stations.
