Nice. Would that have been a public area of the station in 1981?In 2017 I took this photo of a poster at Euston, dating from November 1981, but it was in a non-public area of the station.
Yes, it would have been. I found it whilst having a mooch (legally) in Euston basement down a “dead-end” corridor.Nice. Would that have been a public area of the station in 1981?
Superb! It warms my heart to say yes it is! A photo i took last November. All Red Star offices were closed in May 2001, so the sign is wearing well!
And another one at Euston for good measure.
I was at Georgemas Jcn in 2001 and this poster was still in situ in the waiting room…..The Area Manager Bill Wood, having retired in 1987!
That reminds me. There is one of these at Guildford still. Off-topic but on platform 1 there is a disused postbox that would have been put in when the station was rebuilt in 1986.Is the huge Red Star sign still in showing at Euston?
I was only thinking of that advert the other day. It often pops into my head when I go down the escalator there. I spent many an hour looking for Commodore 64 games there. There used to be an advertising banner above the escalators down to the Wirral lines at Liverpool Central for "Computer Adventure World" in Birkenhead that was still there many years after the shop itself had closed.
