The Railway Touring Company - "The Cumbrian Coast Express" - Saturday 24 September 2022

Unlike the cancelled "The Peaks Express" on Sunday 25, the above train (steam from Carlisle to Carnforth via Maryport) is operating.

There's only about 90 minutes in Carlisle, which must be insufficient time to visit Carlisle Castle given it's about a kilometre from the station.

Does anyone know which steam loco it's likely to be from the pool?

On the train…. Wonderful journey, the Cumbrian Coast line is breathtaking especially as the visibility both inland to the Lake District & out to sea viewing the Isle of Man was so good, I think I prefer the route to Settle Carlisle and that’s saying something.

Very few excursions over this route as far as I can see.
