Manchester Victoria is not a place one would really want to linger for too long, so we board the Metrolink at 1000 arriving at Bury at 1023 on Tuesday morning.

I would advise that you must include the day as well as the arrival time.

No matter what time of year this hypothetical game is, we've missed the last train on the Severn Valley Railway. So instead we take the 125 (Whittle Coaches) at 17.55 to Kidderminster, arriving at the Swan Centre at a quarter to seven.

Feeling that it is time to continue by rail again, it is time to board the 1921 LM service to Droitwich Spa for the short journey that arrives at 1931 on Tuesday evening......perhaps we might see Class172
After a short wait at Droitwich Spa we now continue on the 1952 London Midland service to Hereford, arriving at 2102.

New Cross Gate at 0256 on a Wednesday morning is not really somewhere to be out of choice, but there is nothing for it but to reflect that it would be better to make for a major London terminal, by rail, at the first possible opportunity. Some time elapses before we board the 0534 Southern service to London Bridge, that arrives at 0541 on Wednesday morning.

It's allowed, but trying to go shopping at 6am on a Wednesday morning may also make you feel like the aforementioned woman's appendage

How very right you are. Have to settle for stroll through "The Lanes" instead, then it's back up to the station to catch the 0732 Southern service to Hastings. that arrives there at 0835 on Wednesday morning.

Royal Tunbridge Wells is well worth a short visit, especially to The Pantiles, where coffee and cake sustain us and we decide to visit the capital, so we board the 1051 Southeastern service to London Charing Cross (not the same named Glasgow station) that arrives at 1149 on Wednesday.
