So you'd sooner do Preston than Wolverhampton?
Wolverhampton is even further away from York, in terms of time at least.

But I'd say London-Preston is a better route to do.

If we got a group of 5 of us to go we could do it for £17 each. (London-Preston return)

I have a problem - I'm out with my dad from 0900-1000 so can only get to euston for the wolverhampton dep at 1133. Not to worry if you'd rather stick to Preston though.

Can't do Preston actually due to the timings. We could do Wolves. that would be £11 each (if 5 went).

Well I am very happy with getting the 1133. Can we have confirmation of who (if anyone) is going, please?

Two problems.

1. It now looks like there are no 87s out.

2. We still don't have enough people.

I only need an hour and a half's notice tomorrow, so could still make it.

According to VWC Control @ 06.40, there will be no Class 87s in action today.

As of yesterday, control have been ordered not to use them.
Now when a Pendo fails the service will almost certainly be cancelled, rather than an 87 used.

What on earth is the reason for this?
Believed to be the SRA, who control Virgin's budget.

The SRA are watching every penny, they don't want any 87s on lease. All 87s are off lease now.

In the event of a pendo failure they may be able to hire EWS 90s at short notice, but if not then the service will simply be cancelled.

Alsthom claim they can provide enough Pendos for the new TT, however they do seem to be struggling to do so.

Don't know if this was made clear to you but there were NO 87's out yesterday. All the diagrams were in the hands of Pendolinos.
