they don't suit the South West at all, and Wales, but at the end of the day, when they are used on branch lines for commuters and get vandalised, why replace them with new ones when they're gonna get wrecked? They're fit for purpose on some lines. Not the hope valley though - especially the MiseryRail ones, would even prefer a 150/2 :shock:

I had a Merseyrail one last week on the Hope Valley, wasn't really a rough ride at all. I had a slight end of the world feeling and everyone on board may have lost some hearing going through the Cowburn and Totley tunnels though.

i never do going through Totley, ironic seeing as it's about 5 miles long. Mind you, I only really go through it on trains stopping at Dore and Grindleford either side so they're going slowly
