Was Bordesley ever used back in the day when footex was a popular method of travel for fans? Digbeth Road was never the safest of options for visiting fans who needed to get back to New Street on foot.
I'm sure Bordesley was the destination for 1Z73 (Six Bells Junction doesn't say) on 18th March 1972. FA Cup quarter final Birmingham City v Huddersfield Town, Town lost 3-1. I went on a coach, getting back to and on the coach was bad enough, the coach was bricked leaving the ground which was quite an eye opener to me at the age of 15, the atmosphere at St. Andrews was just horrible. I used Bordesley a few seasons back and WMR hadn't sent anyone to unlock the gates at the bottom of the steps so the only way out was to get a train back to Moor St. (fortunately there was one) and walk.

And that's the last time we reached that stage too, rather depressingly. My old man was present at the game too.

I notice there is an extra today from Falmer at 16:52 to London Victoria calling at Three Bridges (reversal at Lewes Signal LW58, from platform 3 to 2) then East Croydon, Clapham Junction (all set down only) and London Victoria. Crystal Palace have just finished playing Brighton. The stock came EWS from Selhurst via Brighton Platform 4 to Falmer

Made even more surprising as the service used to take Villa fans back to New St was a train that was cancelled inbound from Cardiff.
