Just found this about the visit of Tornado 60163 to the WSR.

West Somerset Railway said:
The owners of A1 Pacific locomotive 60163 Tornado have just made the West Somerset Railway aware that the locomotive will not be able to perform its publicised duties on the Railway during the week 12th to 16th July due to a fault on the engine which requires immediate attention.

The West Somerset Railway is attempting to source a replacement engine for the publicised duties. The trains will run but the motive power is unlikely to be known until just before the days concerned. All passengers who have booked journeys during this period will be contacted by the Railway who will, it is hoped, support the railway by still travelling and enjoying a day on one of the premier heritage railways.

this loco is due on the Towy Tornado trip to Carmarthen on 10 July so wonder if that's either cancelled or replacement steam loco deputising?

What, like Tangmere? :lol::lol:

[pedant] To be precise, Tangmere is a post-war engine - built in 1947 :p [/pedant]

Also, in fairness to that wonderful engine, it's been pretty reliable over the last few years, even if it's out of service at the moment! :D
