Is there an intention to add any more diagrams in the coming weeks, or will it remain as just the two for the foreseeable?

As always, I have no inside knowledge but the TPE Twitter team seem to think there will be more sooner rather than later, though to be fair, they don’t specify Nova 3 or Nova 1!

The message is in response to a customer asking about Nova 3 trains:

‘Hi there Kate the two diagrams we have at the moment are used on morning peak hour services (07:00 and 08:00 services from Huddersfield to Leeds) when we can run them but we will be increasing the use of our Nova trains in the next few weeks to add capacity’.

I suppose a very negative reading of the tweet might be ‘we will run two diagrams more of the time’, I’m sure there will be plenty of people who can come up with something even more negative

I'd be careful what you wish for.

I'm not personally bothered about where the doors are situated on the train. I've never been sat on a 185 or 350 and felt it was drafty at a station stop. What I am bothered about is seat quality and window alignment, and if the 397's are anything like the mk5a's, they won't be an upgrade over the 350's!

Siemens build very good trains. Jury is still out on CAF...

Thanks for the above which just gave enough time to intercept the 0900 ex NCL at Leeds and see how the bimodes coped with the Pennine Hills. Not too bad but the climb of Miles Platting Bank on the return was killed by a 5 late Leeds-Chester, however, amazingly, both runs were almost free of checks otherwise. One min late starts both ways extended to 5-6 mins by the end at LIV/LDS.

As a result, I was able to take 68028 to Leeds on the way to the KWVR for 20031. I'm hearing rumours that a set swap may be on the cards for 68028 at Scarborough this afternoon. Time will tell, but just a heads up regarding a possible change...
