So the loco hauled sets are both Manchester to Scarborough and Manchester to Cleethorpes routes now?

So here is my latest spreadsheet for the diagrams the TPE Mk5s will do from the December 2022 time table change.

Thanks for the extra bits of info from posters above including @68011.

Its obviously going to be subject to change (and errors) and will not be a proper reality until (well) after Christmas.
I hear there will only be one class 68 diagram on the Cleethorpes route next week - insufficient staff trained!

1U31 07:29 MAN-SCA makes the same calls and that’s booked for a Cl68 & Mk5a set, in the opposite direction you have 1U20 05:37 YRK-MAN, 1U28 06:48 SCA-MAN & 1U60 14:48 SCA-MAN calling all stations HUD-SYB booked for Cl68’s & Mk5a sets.
Hadn’t spotted those ones doing the same, thank you.

Tuesday - Friday they'll only be doing Cleethorpes - Sheffield, assuming they can manage that truncated section of the route on strike days. Sheffield into the Hope Valley will be shut.

1B64 & 1B85 are the only workings booked for a Class 68 & Mk5a’s on the South Route, everything else is booked for 185’s.
Thanks, back to the spreadsheet !.

Does that mean 5B73 does not get formed from 1B64 ?.
Does that mean 1B85 does not get formed from 1B76 ?.
Scratches my head.

Highly doubt any 68s will run next week on South (Monday excluded), because the managers working as Guards don't sign them.

1B64 is booked to work 5B73, 5B80, 5B99 & 5D99

5B60 is booked to work 1B85 & 5H85

With the 2 sets being at Cleethorpes at the same time in the morning if required 1B64 can work 1B85.

TPE provided the following information to their "stakeholders":

"Whilst at the December 2022 timetable change the base timetable should see the introduction of 26 additional services per week day we will on a temporary basis suspend in full or part the following 12 services from the timetable at its outset:

03:59 Manchester Airport – Scarborough
05:00 Manchester Victoria – Saltburn
06:14 Liverpool – Cleethorpes will start at Manchester Oxford Road at 0708 (the Liverpool – Manchester section does not operate in the current timetable)
08:45 Saltburn – Manchester Airport
08:45 Scarborough – Manchester (only runs to Leeds in the current timetable)
12:44 Manchester Airport – Saltburn
16:44 Manchester Airport – Saltburn (will terminate at York at 1836)
16:51 Saltburn – Manchester Airport
17:30 Manchester – Scarborough
20:40 Manchester Airport – York
20:51 Saltburn - York
22:45 Scarborough – Manchester

Our plan is to reintroduce these services on an incremental basis during February, or before, as individuals complete their training. Customers currently booked on these affected services will be advised of alternative travel options and supported by a suitable customer handling plan."

Flying down the A64, I noticed a full Nova3 set parked in seamer sidings yesterday, wonder why.
68022/TP09 running as 5Q32 Longsight-Scarborough TMD. Recessed at Seamer to await platform space at Scarborough station, so that it could then reverse and go on to the depot.

Sets now in position for the start of the new timetable on Monday:

Scarborough TMD
68022/TP09
68029/TP04

Scarborough Station
68025/TP13
68030/TP03

Hope that helps.

Many thanks for those, greatly appreciated. I did wonder if that might be the case when 1P98 suddenly became an ‘unadvertised express’!

I guess the options will be ‘please board the next available service’ or ‘Bertie Bus awaits,’ neither of which sound as good as having a ‘customer handling plan’ (though I’m not entirely sure I wish to be handled!);)

Hi, yes, that explains the Seamer unit, Thankyou. But does go to show what I mentioned the other day, if Scarborough P1 is in use, the TMD is effectively blocked. Wonder if they have considered crossover points to Main Down in the turntable area.

Just to report that 1U28 has produced, with 68025 on the front.

Due to frozen water tanks, only one toilet is in operation.

That explains what happened to the first Liverpool-Cleethorpes yesterday. What happened to the next five that didn't run?

Hello. Does anyone know when 1U71, 17:30 Man Pic - Scarbados is due to start running?

Thanks!

Aspirations and reality are often quite remote with what TPE are currently able to run.

Not a rant, it’s easy to see the company are in a tough position, but on 02.01.2023 there were supposed to be trains every two hours Scarborough-Liverpool. The reality was an intermittent Scarborough-York shuttle.

With 1U71 it does seem to be in the timetable now (though I thought the ‘suspended/unadvertised expresses’ were until February).

I guess let’s see what happens on Monday.

Doesnt seem like a single 68 made it out today, does anyone know what has gone wrong? 185s are back to being stretched here there and everywhere again.

Weirdly they probably did more miles during the strikes as they were doing empty stock moves here there and everywhere, sorry passengers no trains for you

Not correct.

68031/TP06 and 68033/TP11 were working diagrams between Scarborough and York all day.

The two turns that commence at Longsight:

1P05 0242 Manchester Piccadilly-York
1P07 0359 Manchester Airport-Scarborough

were both cancelled due to ‘a short notice change to the timetable’.

There was one with a set of mark 5s making a racket in the Scarborough bay at York when I passed through at about 11:20 this morning. Looked like people were boarding
