Any ideas what the driver assessment is made up off.
Multiple choice questions with no right or wrong answers, it gives you customer service scenarios and you choose what would you think is higher priority etc

Interview is reasonably tough with scoring questions then random rules.

Is that not the SJE that you do during the application phase that all grades do?
Advert says Driver Assessments

Had some interviews tougher than others, I thought TPE one was really formal and never gave anything away!

Unless they have changed since beginning of year then it must just be SJE.

Could anyone shed some light on the usual type of questions for me please?

Earliest book on and latest book off, how often nights are rostered, what the average working day looks like ie up and down to Leeds and Edinburgh, once, twice per shift. And are Sundays inside or out?

Also is the depot generally a decent place to be, or is getting into Newcastle central, especially with the clean air zone, a total pain?

Many thanks

Anyone got any insight into the interview please and thank you ? What kind of questions to expect ? Are they pass specific rules or would they just be generic if coming from a freight background and not really knowing much about pass working ?

General questions to ascertain your competence.
I'd imagine, from my experience, the questions for both competence and rules would be based on general knowledge. Would be unfair to ask a passenger driver Rules on OTM and possession so would it be asking a freight driver on Station dispatch.

In the same sense the role is passenger service and I’m note sure they would be willing to do a full conversion for a freight driver so I think the safe bet would be to read up on a few of the RB modules that refer to pax.

Be a shame to miss out on the job when reading a couple of modules could have really helped.

Why wouldn't they want to do a conversion for a freight Driver? Plenty of freight Drivers have moved to TPE and have been given appropriate training. At interview stage the rules questions are more of a general competency nature.

Thank you all. I’ve gone freight to pass and they were accommodating from day 1 with rules conversions and adaptions.

Maybe they will.
Not worth risking it over a few modules that he would have to read anyway.

Whether he is up to speed with pax toc or not he will have to be by the time he is out there as driver so I just thought it would be worth doing it now to secure the job.

I know of a few qualifieds that moved to TPE and they only got a company induction and then went straight to traction and route learning.

Generally you'll find they will do a TNA and that's it. This will determine the practical handing element to coincide with Route and Traction training.
