TPE shambles on the Hull route

It’s fair to say TPE are just falling apart today (02/02/22) on the Hull route. Five of the the first six services into Hull from manchester are fully cancelled, meaning the hourly route will only see one arrival in Hull before 1330. The helpful advice on journeycheck is the generic ‘please use next available service’ which isn’t much use with four trains in a row cancelled!

Trains out of Hull are only slightly better. Somehow, the first two trains out of Hull are short formed with three coaches not six, and the third departure is cancelled.

I had a terrible experience with TPE a couple of Sunday’s ago where there were multiple cancellations and no replacement transport. The quickest way for me to get home from Leeds that day was to take a detour via Sheffield! Anyone else think TPE have just given up?

You cant possibly plan a journey with TPE at the moment,i agree about the short form,i thought when they got the new trains all Hull trains would be 6 car, should lose there operators license

Not just Hull, Cleethorpes had the 08:26 running this morning to Manchester. The 10:26, then cancelled (and removed from planners by the looks of it). 12:26 is running, but then then the 14:26 is cancelled, with the next one at 15:26.
Again, same generic advice - catch the next one...

Meanwhile here in Scarborough we are back to having a really reliable service from TPE albeit only as far as York!
After the December timetable change we had a real shambles with a 5 hour gap between services on one occasion but now we are back to most trains running between York and Scarborough only it's reliable again.
Perhaps Hull needs a shuttle service to Leeds?

Which won't make the problem go away.

Changing the name and some of the managers won't alter the fact that:

There is still a huge backlog of training due to Covid.
Drivers are working to rule and are refusing to work overtime.
Guards have also started to work to rule and refuse to work overtime.
Staff are still going off sick.
Some staff are still retiring or leaving to go elsewhere with no replacements currently qualified to replace them.

None of the above are excuses, nor am I defending things, but better solutions are required as I suspect some of the above issues aren't going away any time soon.

Has there been any point since early 2018 when TPE hasn’t been an embarrassing shambles?

All Hulls should currently be booked 6-car especially with Cleethorpes not being hourly all day at the moment.
