What are your opinions on last night's events at Portsmouth?

In my opinion, they were absolutely brilliant [albeit they could have run the trains a bit quicker!!]

3 :shock: That's pushing it a bit if there was a major problem with the others isn't it?

Sorry, the 2 3-CIGs, Gordon Pettitt, and a few slammers currently in Bournemouth.

No they do have 3, 1497,1498 and 1499. 1499 is currently stored and rarely comes out.

1499 replaced 1512/68002 as Bournemouth depot shunter when it was displaced from the Lymington Branch by 1498/1497. 1499 took over from 1198 which is now in preservation at the Dartmoor railway
Unfortunately, 1199 didnt make it to preservation, despite its unique life on the Brockenhurst branch

Further, SWT has now got no diagrams booked for a slam door unit, nor any units on standby for emergency cover of failed desiros.
This i feel is a total disgrace to the railway legend, but as a compromise, SWT have kept back 4 slam door units for various duties
1499 {formerly 1394}?
1498 {formerly 1888}
1497 {formerly 1883}
3417 {Gordon Petit}

The Lymington branch will still use slammers.
3417 is moving to the NRM.
