I'm travelling to Paddington. Does anyone know which services between Hungerford and Paddington are Intercity 125s?

I would expect the following would likely be HSTs:

  • 0637
  • 0653
  • 0735
  • 1640
However it's possible some of them may be rostered for Adelantes. Someone local to the area could confirm. Unusual allocations can also occur, particularly at times of disruption.

All are 165/166 operated except:

0635
0651
0732
1639

The 0546 pointed out by Yorkie is booked for a 166

However, the 0609 off Newbury to Paddington is Class 180 operated, but obviously that does not apply here

Quick and easy way to check for GWR trains operated by HSTs/125s is to look at the GWR pocket timetables, which have a little H in a blob at the top of the column for any service they are used on.

If you go to the GWR timetables page here https://www.gwr.com/plan-journey/train-times, open the dropdown section headed East, you can open up a pdf of Timetable East 4, which shows services between Hungerford and London and back.

As well as direct HST services, in the afternoon and evening there are two or three cases where you can use an HST from Paddington to Newbury and change there into a Turbo for the last 15 minutes to Hungerford.
