Train/Carriage Washers

Anyone know any good reference for Carriage and Train Washers?

Ive got a few images from Clapham, Wimbledon, Farnham, Fratton and Reading, but these are either from a passing train or a reasonable distance allowing for little 'investigation' of facilities and construction.

Im interested in scratch building a pair (in series) for my model layout and the current N scale market doesnt produce anything to work with.

It might be worth your while to have a word with Paul Bigland. I know he's got a few images from Wimbledon that you would probably find useful.

Provided you get the basic structures right you could always "freelance" it. I don't believe there is any one standard design.

There's a tiny washing facility at Shrewsbury's Abbey Foregate Yard...

Not even sure if it's still used. You can see it if you have a wander down the access road for the Yard, which starts at Underdale Road.
