...good to see that the driver is halfway through the carriage, before announcing, what is about to happen, ensuring his escape route isn't further blocked, and putting others between himself and the impact..:lol:

Nice to know, that i have also been trained, to this international standard..

Doesn't look like it was that bad only a cracked windscreen, didn't seem to derail
Good of the driver to warn people though

That truck seemed to be not (fully) loaded and was not hit in the middle. Otherwise the impact might be harder.

I wonder if they should have some sort of emergency alarm the driver can hit in such a situation, if it doesn't exist already.

Or is it considered that would cause more panic and confusion?

It certainly underlines the need to keep lorries and trains apart as much as possible, not that it is always practical to replace every level crossing of course.
