Hi all, back in feb 22 I completed and passed the psychometric tests with DB cargo and in their talent pool, I have a dmi this week with a TOC who require an enhanced pass and I wasn’t sure if the tests I did were enhanced and I could skip the tests with the TOC?

Thanks

The toc will look at your scores and if you’ve exceed their criteria on any then you shouldnt need to retake the all tests … and you’ll only need to repeat those where you haven’t.

when I was in a similar situation..I was invited to the test day and only retook 2 of them. On the rest .. I was just asked to sit outside and wait whilst the others in the group to complete them.

A word of warning to the OP - if you have a bad day and end up scoring below National standard on one of the tests you've previously passed you then wipe out your original pass and will only have one life left!

I would think twice before redoing the tests if you are in a holding pool......

You’d find out from the OPC or assessment invigilators on the day what you need to resit, if anything.

It could be that you’ve passed all the tests to their standard but haven’t sat some of the additional tests that can be given.

WMT were national pass marks on all of their normal tests but required people to sit the DFFT which makes them an “enhanced pass” TOC.

So you may be lucky and already have acceptable passes in everything you’ve done already and just need to sit an extra test or two. Or you may need to resit the whole lot - and you can only find out on the day sadly!

When I was sitting the tests for a second time, I sent an email to the company before the assessment day and they were able to advise which tests I had already met their standard on and which extra tests I needed to sit.

Yes apologies it may be the case that your passes are to enhanced already but I do stress there is an element of risk in doing them again because if you're really unlucky you could wipe out your original pass.

My first attempt at the tests was at a TOC requiring National standard and I flunked out fairly early on in the day. My second and final attempt was with one requiring enhanced and I passed. I rang the TOC to see which I would have to do again and they confirmed that my group bourdon and TRP tests were already to their enhanced standard so I didn't need to redo them. It's definitely worth making the call

How long overall do the assessment results remain on the RSSB(?) system? From what I gather, DB view all but the psychometric as valid for 5 years?

I think they'll remain there indefinitely in case anyone tries to have a third go after their two strikes. I think the official line is that passes are valid for 5 years however some TOC's will make you do some or all of them again regardless

Remain permanently. But not all TOCs are 5 years, some are shorter. Speak to the TOC and they will confirm.

Ouch, that’s harsh! That’s like making someone resit an entrance exam even if they’ve already passed it.
TBF I only said that based on my experience at Tyne and Wear metro (make you repeat it - at least they did in 2020). The guy from the OPC said that most TOCs honour passes from anywhere between 5 years and 18 months (provided you've reached their level ie enhanced etc)
