Train tickets in canada

Does anyone know if cheap train tickets are available in Canada (Toronto-Montreal) or can point me to a another forum.

Just priced for 3 adults and a 20 year old and comes out at nearly 470 CAD$!! and that is on a Special economy non transferrable ticket (On VIARail website)

My original plan had been to do car Hire and see stop more often but One-way car Charges kill that idea (I dont need car for 4 days whilst in Montreal)

I don't know if you specifically want to use the train, but I used the Megabus while I was there. A quick look at their website quotes about $60 for the 4 of you. Probably not as comfortable as the train, but not too bad really.
