As the title says.

I seen this advertised yesterday whilst on the Ipad. I came to apply for it today on the laptop and its nowhere to be seen. I took a screenshot of it and the closing date was the 15th. Logged back onto the same page on the Ipad and the very same page states they are no longer accepting appliactions. This seems unfair. Surely a closing date is a closing date and not a race to apply for said vacancy?

Sure, I couldve been quicker but sometimes its just not as easy as that to drop parenting duties and log onto the P.C away from the madness.

Anyone on here have better luck applying?

Usually says somewhere they reserve the right to close it sooner. Half the time it's about right place right time when these vacancies come up! They get such a response some close within a day! I've seen one close within a few hours!

Ive not bothered looking for any jobs in this industry for a while now, so when I seen it yesterday I almost got an erection.

Lesson learnt though, and I ll keep looking. And applying much sooner, ha.

Erm my housemate applied the other day and has been offered a phone interview today
From my experience companies often put a limit on the number of applications they take.
Which is fair enough, they will have had it in the small print
But if they have 100's of applications for a handful of positions they would probably have there work cut out and are stopping the endless applications they would have to go through

Its pretty harsh, but they've got to draw some kind of line

I have to say, I've been surprised as to how quickly they advertised, shortlisted and arranged phone interviews. I'm sure when I applied for a Conductor job at Picc a while back the process was quite drawn out.

Standard good luck to those who've applied, and SteWhit - don't give up hope, keep an eye out for other things that pop up. If you're able to get to Manchester, you've got options there too.

Still it seems a bit naughty (and silly) to give a date and then change it.

For all they know the ideal candidate was taking their time planning and putting together a perfect application only to miss out through their own thoroughness. Their loss I guess...

For me it was a case of coming off the back of a week of nights and having my hands full with our 2 boys - one 3 years of age and the other 3 months of age. Simply didnt have the time to jump on the laptop an fire away at it.

Eyes have been opened a little Id say.
